The day of fire protection is celebrated in Russia on April 30. This date, like the holiday itself, has ancient roots. As early as April 30, 1649, Russia adopted two main documents on security, which raised very urgent questions on extinguishing fires. At that time, the houses in Russia were entirely made of wood, only the rich townspeople were partly made of stone, so this was a frequent occurrence. Historians note that only Moscow burned out several times.

In these documents was nothing but an instruction to prevent this disaster. This was the beginning of the history of the holiday, which was called the Day of Fire. It was only ordered in these decrees to put out the fire with buckets of water, and they were obliged to have them in every yard.

Known is the fact that the Grand Duke and Tsar of All Russia, Ivan III in 1475 personally commanded during the extinguishing of buildings and subsequently instructed Muscovites what security measures to take when dealing with fire.

The day of fire protection is a feast of fearless men, weak and indifferent among them there is no place. It is thanks to their work, which is equated to heroism, many lives are saved.

This profession requires the presence of such personal qualities as the ability to self-discipline, mutual assistance and, of course, self-sacrifice. People who have chosen this profession for themselves, like one team, go to the fiery hell on the first signal, to save human life. Sometimes they die themselves. Most often this happens at work, but also from heart attacks. Such data is provided to us by statistics. Indeed, not everything can sustain a human heart even with such brave people.
