"Courage" - cucumber for greenhouses

"Courage" - a cucumber, which is increasingly found in our household plots. Its characteristic feature is that it blooms "bouquets." Cucumber "courage f1" - a modern high-yielding hybrid, which has a bouquet type of formation of fruit ovaries. It is grown in greenhouses (less often - in the open field). It has proved itself well during growing in hotbeds and greenhouses under unfavorable conditions in the second crop rotation.

"Courage" is a cucumber, bred by the selection firm "Gavrish", which does a great job of creating insect-less (parthenocarpic) hybrids of greenhouse cucumbers that do not need pollination. The F1 hybrid has become one of the latest and very successful developments. It refers to early-ripened cucumbers (from the emergence of shoots to the first harvest takes about 50 days). Hybrid "courage" can be used for growing 2 times in a warm season (spring-summer, summer-autumn turnover).

Plants of this variety are very vigorous. Their main stem reaches 3.5 m. The plant is well-leafy, but its shoot-forming capacity is considered average. "Courage" is a cucumber-shaped cucumber. It has a dark green color. On the fruit can be observed bright stripes, reaching a third of its length. This cucumber has small tubercles. They are often located on the surface of the fetus. The edges of the tubercles are whitish. Hybrid "Courage", cucumbers which reach a length of 13-15 cm, suitable for salads and salting. Its fruits can withstand long-term transportation and long-term storage.

Cucumbers "courage", reviews about which are mostly positive, have excellent taste qualities. They belong to the group of parthenocarpic short-fruited hybrids. The productivity of this plant is often increased by increasing the number of ovaries. They achieve this in such ways: by increasing the number of lateral shoots (this procedure slightly complicates the formation of the bush and leads to its strong lining) and the bouquet type of flowering (several ovaries form in the leaf axils).

When creating this hybrid, breeders took into account all the features of the self-regulating system of cucumbers, therefore this variety forms up to 4 ovaries in each sinus, and up to 8 on the side shoots. In intensive illumination, more ovaries can form on the plant. Flowers bloom primarily on the central stem, after which flowering begins on the side shoots. "Bouquet" ovary allows you to get from one plant to 20 fruits at a time.

The yield of this cucumber in the second crop rotation does not exceed 10 kg / m 2, although the plant itself is experiencing an unfavorable summer-autumn growing conditions. The seeds are sown in early June. Strong seedlings are grown in special compartments, as usual. The best age for planting is 22-25 days. Seedlings should have 3-4 leaves and a good root system. Plant seedlings in early July, so the seedlings should be watered regularly. The density of planting is 2.5 seedlings / sq. M. When planting seedlings in a greenhouse a few days should be provided with high humidity. "Courage" - a cucumber, which requires the formation of a bush, which is carried out as follows: at the bottom 4-5 knots, female flowers and side shoots are removed from the sinuses of the leaves. In the next 1-2 nodes, these flowers are left, but lateral shoots are removed. All side shoots should be pinched on 1 sheet. Fasten plants on special trellises for cucumbers. The first fruits must be collected early. This will not inhibit the growth of shoots. Regular collection of fruits stimulates the appearance of new ovaries. Cucumbers "courage" can be affected by powdery mildew, root rot.
