Colonial style in the interior

Colonial style in the interior originated in those distant times, when Europeans embarked on sea wanderings in search of new lands. It was then, during the period of colonial conquests, and began the confusion of different cultures - European and foreign. This phenomenon has affected all aspects of life, including the arrangement of housing. European colonizers brought aristocratism and comfort to overseas countries, in turn, having adopted local customs.

The modern colonial style is a combination of European nobility and elegance with colorful ethnic elements.

Conquerors from England, Spain, France, Portugal and Holland conquered the vast territories of America, Africa, Asia and the Pacific Islands. Therefore, this style is quite heterogeneous, it has several directions, depending on the geography of the colony and the traditions of the colonizing country.

Adherents of this style are most often romantic travelers, accustomed to decorating their house with exotic items brought from distant countries.

Colonial style requires a large bright room and the correct organization of space.

Furniture and all elements of decoration should be clearly visible. For furniture, you need to allocate enough space - each object here has its own space. Colonial style does not tolerate crowding and piling up things. The room should have a lot of light and air. A characteristic feature of this interior are large windows with thin curtains or bamboo blinds.

Zoning is very conditional: different levels of the floor and ceiling, columns, sliding partitions, wicker and fabric screens, vertical blinds.
