Potted pineapple. How to grow it from a supernatant outlet
To grow pineapple at home, you need to choose the right fruit in the store. Pineapple should be ripe, but the main condition is for its "sultan" to be fresh, strong, green and healthy, that is, without stains, dried edges, yellowed or faded leaves. You should not buy overripe fruit. Having bought two pineapples, you can hedge and increase the chances of success.
Then carefully, you should unscrew the "sultan" from the fruit. If it is slightly turned, it will separate from the fruit with a small green trunk. You can simply cut off the top along with a small piece of pulp. But then all the flesh must be removed from the trunk, otherwise it will start to rot.
The next step: the base of the trunk is slightly cut off before the appearance of the root kidneys. They will be seen. It is located on a circle on the trunk of a dots or circles. Trim the trunk very carefully, so as not to accidentally remove the root buds. At the base of the socket there may be small brown-brown roots, which should not be removed. After this, several lower leaves are removed from the supernatant socket. Then the rosette is left for 2 days to dry, and the "wound" applied to it lightly heals.
Then we should act quite traditionally, that is, put the tops in the water to sprout the roots. Containers with a plant should be kept away from heating appliances and drafts. Every 2-3 days necessarily change the water.
After the rootlets grow 3-5 cm long, pineapple "sultans" are planted in pots with soil. A ready earth mixture for bromeliad crops is suitable for planting. Planting pineapples occurs in the same way as any indoor flowers. Put a layer of drainage on the bottom of the pot, then ground, and put "sultans". Pots with plants put in a warm bright place. It should be ensured that the soil in the pots is always wet, but not wet. After 6 weeks, young pineapple should take root. Check it out easily. It is necessary to tilt the plant slightly, if it will resist, the rooting has been successful, if it freely leaves the ground - the entire process will have to start anew with a new tip.
Within a year the pineapple will grow, the old leaves will gradually wither away, and new fresh green leaves will grow from the rosette. A year later the young specimen is transplanted into a more spacious pot.
At home, a pineapple fruit is rarely formed, but a beautiful exotic plant with bright flowers will necessarily become a decoration of a room greenhouse.
