Calculation of length of service in the workbook: main features, algorithm

The official work of any citizen must be recorded in the form of the work book. Why is this necessary? In order to be able to reliably calculate the earned pension in the future. The calculation of the length of service in the workbook has its own characteristics and a certain calculation algorithm.

Definitions

Before calculating the length of service, you need to understand what it is composed of. Under the term of employment is understood that time which the physical person has spent on this or that official activity. In addition to work, they include study, maternity leave, and so on.

Also worth considering is the concept of insurance length of service. This is the period when the employer paid contributions to the FIU for the employee.

Once the calculation of pensions depended solely on working experience, but today everything has changed. And the main role now plays an insurance record (which is inherently an integral part of the total work experience). In other words, employees of the pension fund first consider the length of service, and then they calculate the length of service on the work book with the calculation of the coefficients.

Why count

If an employee does not have the opportunity to submit a work sheet or mistakes are made, the specific working period can be confirmed as follows:

  • Provide an employment contract in writing, issued in accordance with all the rules of the law;
  • Provide certificates issued by the organization or government bodies;
  • Take extracts from orders;
  • Provide information about the personal account;
  • Show the statements that confirm the receipt of wages.

The certificate issued to confirm the length of service must contain the following information:

  • Number and date of issue;
  • Information on the employee, including the place of work;
  • Period of work;
  • Specialization and profession of the employee;
  • The reason for issuing this document.

If the period of labor and insurance experience coincide, then something will be taken into account. What period to choose, the employee decides, having given in this occasion the statement.

You also need to remember how the calculation of seniority is performed. The period calculator takes into account a full year, consisting of 12 months, and a full month consisting of 30 days. In this case, if only the year is specified, then the basis is taken on July 1, when specifying only the day of the month, the number 15 is taken.

Counting algorithm

  1. Identification of the periods that should be included in the total length of service (this includes the beginning and the end of each time interval of work activity, as well as those periods that are part of the length of service).
  2. Establish in calendar days the duration of each period.
  3. Calculation of the total length of service in days.
  4. Calculation of full months.
  5. Calculation of full years.
  6. The final determination of the total length of service in years, months, days.

To calculate the length of service, you can contact the employee of the pension fund, make the calculation yourself, use any online program for calculating the length of service.

If you want to count the experience yourself, you can use a simple accounting method: from the sum of the end of each period of work, take the sum of the beginning of each working period. The final result is the work experience.

The calculation of the length of service for a work record may look like this.

A certain citizen Petrov started his working activity on 23.01.1997 and finished it at the given enterprise on November 17, 2007. He then worked at another enterprise in the period from December 12, 2007 to May 24, 2010. In the last work he was listed from 07.06 .2010 to 16.12.2016.

Using the specified accounting method, add the dates of the beginning of each period and get: 23.01.1997 + 12.12.2007 + 07.06.2010 = 42.19.6014. Then we add the end dates of all periods: 17.11.2007 + 24.05.2010 + 16.12.2016 = 57.28.6033. From the result obtained for the period of dismissal, we subtract the result obtained for the period of commencement of employment: 57.28.6033 - 42.19.6014 = 15.09.19.

Proceeding from this, Petrov worked for 19 years, 9 months and 15 days.

Thus, you can calculate the length of service. The calculator and other calculation methods work on the basis of the above algorithm. Do not forget that in these periods may include the length of insurance (and the employee on the basis of the application must choose either labor or insurance experience).
