Butterfly-chocolate-maker of desires

Of all the representatives of the fauna living on earth, there is hardly an even more mysterious and beautiful creature than a butterfly. No insect undergoes such a transformation before appearing in its true form. The life of a butterfly can be divided into four stages: an egg, a caterpillar, a chrysalis, a butterfly.

And it is the fourth phase of the butterfly's life that causes so many rapturous looks and cries. There are a great many species of this insect: from small moths, ephemeral to huge butterflies living in the tropics. Some of them are absolutely harmless, but there are also those that cause a significant damage to agriculture, destroying crops of tomatoes, cabbage and other crops. In this article we will talk about such a familiar moth as a butterfly-chocolatier. It is very common in our latitudes, and, of course, you have seen it many times outside the city - in the country or in the forest.

Butterfly-Chocolate Girl

The second name of this lepidoptera is urticaria. The first name (chocolate bar) the butterfly received because of its color. The wings of the butterfly are brownish-orange, along the edge of which there is a border of pale blue spots in the form of a crescent moon. They give the insect a very elegant look. And the second (urticaria) - because the fodder plant of this butterfly is exclusively nettle. Males in color differ little from females. Eggs are laid by those butterflies who managed to winter. For this they are hammered into cracks, often hibernate in cellars, in attics of houses, and also in caves. Eggs (pale yellow), the butterfly lays in the thickets of nettle on the underside of the leaf (200-300 pieces). Caterpillars have a dark, almost black color, along the body there are yellow bands. Before their pupation, they do not spread far apart and intensively absorb the leaves of the nettle. As soon as the caterpillars gain enough nutrients, the third stage of the life of the butterfly begins - the pupa. The caterpillar weaves a cocoon around its body and is in it until the butterfly forms. Hanging dolly upside down. Cocoons of these butterflies can often be seen on the walls of houses and on fences.

Chocolate Butterfly: Habitat and Lifespan

It is known that the butterfly-chocolatier (photo is presented in the article) lives practically in all Eurasia and Europe. These butterflies like to fly on forest edges, in gardens and parks. They are also found in the mountains at an altitude of about 3000 meters. The question arises as to how many butterflies live in the chocolate bar. The lifespan of these beauties varies from a few weeks to several months. The fact is that during the summer several generations of butterflies are formed. Some of them hibernate in secluded places, and then live all summer, laying eggs.

Signs

If a butterfly flies into your house, it is considered a very good sign, as it brings happiness to its wings. There is a belief that if you catch a butterfly and, gently holding it in your hands, make a wish, then it will come true. But after do not forget to let her go free.
