Biography Ostrovsky, brief but informative

Alexander Ostrovsky, a Russian writer, an unrivaled master of drama, was born on March 31, 1823 in Moscow. Biography Ostrovsky brief, but informative. The playwright is the founder of the Russian national repertoire. His work he divided into two components: psychological dramas and keenly satirical comedies. Ostrovsky's characters represented the entire multi-layered Russian society of the 19th century, ranging from wealthy merchants, whose greed for profit was the main and only passion in life, and ending with little people: servants, keepers, beggars.

The first comedy

In forty years Ostrovsky Alexander Nikolaevich, whose short biography contains only a few pages, was elected a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of St. Petersburg. This high rank did not affect the creativity of the playwright, he did not touch science. All his life the writer devoted Russian theater art, since 1847 Ostrovsky wrote plays and comedies, which enjoyed constant success with the capital's public. The first comedy "Family Picture" was read to a narrow circle of like-minded people and unconditionally approved by them. Thus, the biography of Ostrovsky, brief in essence, marks the beginning of the writer's work.

Milestones of creativity

In 1849, a comedy was staged on the theatrical stage: "His people - we will be considered" about the bankruptcy of a successful merchant, with numerous collisions, betrayal of family members, greed, a display of base human instincts and many other unpleasant events. Then the plays were written: "Poverty is not a flaw" and "Do not sit down in your sled", in which the playwright tried to present Russian society not alien to nobility, possessing poetic aspirations.

Journalism

In addition to drama, A. Ostrovsky (the biography briefly does not reflect all the changes in his life) gravitated towards journalism, and in 1850 he became a member of the Moskvityanin, a well-known magazine whose main readership consisted of ordinary people, farmers, small employees and Housewives. Alexander Nikolayevich set out to reveal the life of the patriarchal merchant class on the pages of the magazine, but the editorial board of the publication did not welcome the critical approach of the writer, disputes and conflicts began. In the end, Ostrovsky left the Moskvityanin.

"Thunderstorm" - a masterpiece of drama

The next edition, in which he decided to try his luck, was the St. Petersburg magazine Sovremennik, which was headed by NA Nekrasov, who sincerely considered Ostrovsky the most outstanding playwright of our time. And in 1859 saw the first collection of works by Alexander Nikolayevich. Ostrovsky's biography is short, but nevertheless it marks the main milestones of creativity. At the same time was written "Thunderstorm" - the author's first significant work in the genre of tragedy, unprecedented in the power of narration, revealing the conflict between two women: Katerina and her mother-in-law Marfa Ignatyevna. The dramatic drama "Thunderstorms", the slow progress of Katerina to suicide, her attempts to make a choice between love and the traditional way of life make the drama viewer deeply empathize and sympathize with the unhappy woman.

Biography Ostrovsky brief, but it contains a few more pages from the life of the famous playwright, which we'll talk about in another article.
