Binary clock: how to set up and how to use
The history of the clock lasts for many centuries. During this time, which only the methods of definition were invented by inventive people - from the positions of the Sun in the sky to the electronic ones. The last peep of fashion at the moment is the binary clock, quite unusual at first glance. So what is this and how do you determine on the firing points, what time is it? Let's understand this interesting novelty better.
What is a binary clock?
The popularity of these chronometers is growing at an extraordinary rate. However, what's there to be surprised about, is it just to look at this novelty. The original appearance, stylish design, unusual working principle - all this allows people with an unconventional vision of the world to stand out from the crowd.
On their screen, unlike mechanical or electronic, a binary wristwatch does not have arrows and numbers, but multicolored luminous dots (which in some models flash).
All the unusualness of the principle of their action lies in the fact that instead of the usual decimal number system, the time is indicated in the binary system, in which all the digits are written only with the help of zeros and ones. This is how all computer technology works, therefore programmers and those who are closely connected with information technologies should not have difficulties with recalculation.
How did they appear?
The first time the binary clock came out in 2008. It was then that Anelace presented its innovative development to the whole world. However, the appearance of a stylish wristwatch with LED-screen was preceded by years of improvements, trial and error.
The prototype models of binary watches, created in the beginning of the 20th century, were huge machines with electronic lamps (as, indeed, the first computers). Then for the person they almost did not represent practical interest.
With the development of technology, LEDs have become increasingly widespread, and in the design of binary watches they have taken the place of ordinary lamps.
Years passed, and an unusual Japanese professor of medicine became interested in an unusual system. His patients were elderly people having problems with memory and brain activity. The professor included in the lessons on their rehabilitation and binary watches as a developing puzzle. The result was simply stunning!
Why such difficulties?
The first question that arises when looking at a binary clock: how to use them? At first the definition of time in such a strange way may seem like a stupid fad, which will be liked only by the technology of freaks, or geniuses, which are shifted on the ground. Usually, because the clock is needed in order to catch a glimpse of them and find out the time, and with binary chronometers this trick will not work. You can even be late for a meeting while you try to read the evidence from them.
And yet it is only necessary to discard any prejudices, as it becomes clear: the thing is extremely useful, primarily for training and developing the mind. To get used to a binary clock, you need much less time than it seems at first glance, and the variety of species will not let you relax.
Benefits
What benefit does the clock bring to its owner binary compared to conventional? Well, for starters, this is an excellent opportunity for all familiar (and just passers-by) to be considered a very clever and original person. Especially if you do not specify anything on their inquiries, and do not understand the mysterious look in the style of "you, mere mortals."
And seriously, the binary clock is just a few useful gadgets in one.
- Clock. Naturally, they can be used to determine the time, otherwise what kind of clock is it?
- A puzzle game. Allows you to have fun at any time when you want. In addition, different models of such watches are based on slightly different systems of numbering, which makes them even more interesting.
- Brain training. This gadget is particularly useful for the prevention of senile mental abnormalities, but it will also become an excellent brain simulator for young people.
- Trendy and modern decoration with innovative design. And yes, this watch glows in the dark.
Customize
The binary wristwatch does not have in its mechanism either a dial or an arrow. Instead, all information about the current date and time is displayed on the LED screen with the help of LEDs. Because of this, the user faces a pressing question: how to set up a binary clock?
The encoding system may differ in different models of binary clocks, but there are some key points to keep in mind. Typically, these chronometers have 1 or 2 modes: time and, less often, the date that the button switches. To set the desired value, you first usually need to press the Set button. Flashing indicators will show that you are doing everything right. The Select button allows you to switch from setting the clock to minutes and seconds, as well as from month to day.
To correctly set the desired values on the clock, it is worthwhile mastering the basic principle of the binary number system. The "weight" of each digit can be determined by multiplying the previous by 2. We obtain the following series: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32. For example, to convert the number 110101 into the familiar form, we need to add the "weight" of each of the significant digits. We get 32 + 16 + 0 + 4 + 0 + 1 = 53.
Since different firms produce a slightly different binary clock, the instruction to them will help to understand everything in more detail.
What are binary watches?
Like most electronic gadgets, binary watches are the patrimony of the Japanese and Chinese people. Now they are made by a lot of firms, the models differ in quality, but all of them can be divided into several groups according to the type of information displayed.
- Chronometers with two rows of LEDs. One row shows the hours, the second - minutes. In addition, the screen has 2 time-of-day indicators (AM and PM).
- A clock with LEDs in 6 rows (2 for hours, minutes and seconds). Show time in the format HH: MM: SS. To learn from them the time, you need to record the indications of each column in the order provided by this format.
- The clock screen can resemble a speedometer with two circles: external, showing the clock, and internal, which determines the minutes.
- In some watches there are 2 tracks - on the right (clock) and on the left (minutes).
There are more sophisticated options for binary watches. Which one to choose depends only on your desire and financial possibilities.
