"Big eyes". Actors - new stars Tim Burton

In 2014, the cult director Tim Burton shoots another movie masterpiece, in which there is a lot of light, a riot of colors, humor, understandable to the majority, and a very personal story. The chamber drama Big Eyes (actor-starring roles Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz) has an easy feminist flair. A low-budget picture is based on real events, the plot is built on the history of the now-living 87-year-old artist Margaret Keen. To all of the above, it should be added that this is the first since 1996 full-length project of Burton, in which neither the eccentric Johnny Depp nor the charming Helena Bonham Carter is shining.

Completion of the cycle of reflection

The film "Big Eyes", the actors and roles of which became the subject of heated discussions immediately after the release of the tape, is the first in Burton's filmography after the Ed Wood, released in 1994, in the style of a realistic entourage. Nevertheless, the author's "visionary" handwriting of the creator is also palpable in this masterpiece. New work has a surreal atmosphere and bright colors. This refutes the assumption of some critics who believe that Tim became a hostage to the macabre-Gothic style and exhausted himself. In the drama "Big Eyes" actors invited to shoot, had the opportunity to work not with Burton-eccentric, but with Burton-introvert, thoughtful, subtle. According to critics, the film completes the director's cycle of reflections on the phenomenon of art and creativity, which he began "Ed Wood." Surprising admirers of the work of the star producer in addition to the sugary color palette of the unusually soft soundtrack of Danny Elfman. The actors of the film "Big Eyes" came to delight with lemon wigs, acid-blue pools and soft pink wall decorations. On this issue, there was no friction on the set.

Plot

The plot of the drama "Big Eyes", the actors and roles of which were selected by the producer and co-author of the script by Scott Alexander, highlights the end of the 1950s. A young woman Margaret decides to take a risky act: she leaves her unloved husband, taking the most valuable - the daughter and her pictures, which she painted at her leisure. The runaways are sent to San Francisco, which meets the daughter and mother is not too welcome. Margaret, to ensure existence, begins to sell their work. Her drawings are interested in the artist Walter Keane, who fascinates a young woman and leads her to the crown. Family idyll is to run a successful business: Margaret draws pictures, and Walter sells them. Soon the entire US is becoming aware postcards and posters with the signature "Kin". The only nuance is that everyone around him thinks Walter is the author and does not know anything about Margaret. In the spirit of the late 50's, when the world was swept by the second wave of feminism, the heroine decided on a personal riot.

Central characters

Artists give the picture the acting actors of the first plan. "Big eyes" are decorated with Amy Adams and Christoph Wolz. Amy played great almost Monroe, a bright blonde 60's. Christophe also managed to interest the viewer, though at times he was bored with active facial expressions, pantomime and obsessive comic. The actors formed a successful, organic duo. They especially succeeded in those scenes that are full of drama, than those that are designed to make laugh. However, a couple of charismatic characters still lost to the usual companions of Bertan - the dusk of the night and bright tones of the day. The performer clearly prefers creativity: working with graphics, film, paper, active communication with others, so his characters also turn into hermits. In this picture, Walter is always unhappy, and Margaret has locked herself up in her world.

The main actors

Actress Amy Adams - five-time nominee for the Oscar. Adams regularly receives the highest reviews for working in the next film. The girl is known to a wide spectator audience for the paintings: "Master" directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, the tragicomedy "The Scam in American" and, of course, "Big Eyes." Actors who worked together with Amy, call her one of the most extraordinary and promising actresses of our time.

Christophe Waltz, known to the broad publicity about the role of Hans Landa, Standartenfuhrer SS in "Inglourious Basterds" Quentin Tarantino. And the domestic audience will certainly recognize the actor as the main actor in the Austrian series "Commissioner Rex." Christophe Waltz is in high demand, since 2011 he took part in the comic action movie "The Green Hornet," the dramatic film "Water to the Elephants!", The tragedy "The Massacre" and in the next adaptation of the "Musketeers", where he performed the role of Richelieu and the spaghetti western "Django Liberated ".

More than ever

Like the bigopie, "Big Eyes" (the actors who participated in the project, confirm this fact) significantly exceeds the biographical drama "Ed Wood". In the "Eyes" there are all the fundamental components: the development of characters, conflict, a turning point and an uneasy overcoming of it. If you consider the film as an immersion in the era, then it is extremely attractive and beautiful, reflects the subtleties of the 50's of last century. Thematically, the drama is as relevant as ever, at all times there has been and will be a battle of creators and sellers.
