Belovskoe Reservoir: description, ecological situation, recreation

In the Kemerovo region in 1964, the Belovskoye reservoir was built, which is the second most important reservoir in this area. It was built in conjunction with the construction of the Belovskaya GRES in order to use it to cool the treated waters and drain sewage. And of course, for technological water supply by the reverse scheme.

Briefly about the pond

Belovskoe Reservoir is located on the river Inya. Its length is about 10 kilometers, and the depth is almost five meters. That is much more than other reservoirs located in this region. The water level is regulated depending on the amount of precipitation and melt water.

Belovskoe reservoir is an artificial reservoir. The local population calls it the sea or the Pearl of the Kuzbass. This name is not accidental, because the impressive size of this object is simply amazing.

How to get there?

In order to reach the reservoir, it is required to reach the Belovo district. He refers to the Kemerovo region. This area captures the central part of this region. You have to continue your way along the road. On it it is necessary to reach the village of Incs, which is located very close. The road is quite good, so there should not be any problems in the way.

Fishing

Belovskoe Reservoir is just an amazing place for fishing lovers who will not be left without a notable catch. Very often you can see people with fishing rods standing on the shore of the reservoir. However, if there is a boat, you can swim deeper in order to catch a bigger fish.

Water flora and fauna are very diverse. Here lives carp, trout, white cupid, carp, and catfish. And this is not all of the listed varieties of representatives living here. The water is in a fairly clean state, which is why the aquatic animal world will amaze even the professional angler.

Rest on the Belovo Reservoir

For tourists here all conditions are created. This is a huge number of health camps, where children and students come, and various cottages, boarding houses and recreation centers. Come to these places to enjoy nature not only local residents, but also tourists from all over the Kemerovo region. Here, every guest has the opportunity to ride a water ski or take the road on a boat, making a walk along the water surface of the reservoir. For those who want to learn surfing in the territory, they opened a specialized school. The inhabitants of Siberia are simply delighted with this place and consider it truly a paradise.

Ecological situation

But, despite all this, the ecological situation in these places leaves much to be desired. Belovskoe reservoir (reviews of local residents indicate a looming danger) are oversaturated with toxic waste, pollutants and bacteria. Every year copper, lead, manganese, zinc, nickel, iron, chrome, nitrogen and many other harmful substances enter the reservoir. At the moment on the shore, tourists leave garbage, broken glass, which makes the surrounding landscape quite unpresentable.

GRES is licensed, which implies the possibility of technical use of water for cooling purposes. It is for this reason that the Belovo Reservoir is officially referred to as a "reservoir-cooler".

This district receives money from energy specialists who pay for water use. But nobody wants to take care of the reservoir. The city and the region do not contain it on its balance sheet, and, unfortunately, the surrounding area and the pond itself fall into decay.
