Ball in earlobes: how to defeat atheroma
If the ball is disturbed in the earlobe, then it is possible to talk about an athere. As a result of this disease, the sebaceous gland is clogged, which ceases to perform its functions and can turn into a cyst, sitting on the earlobe. Sometimes an atheroma is called a wen or bag full of fat.
The disease can spread to anyone, regardless of gender and age. In the classical form, the ball in the earlobe has a yellow color and clear boundaries.
The epidermal cyst (atheroma) represents a painless neoplasm of circular shape, the size of which can reach 40 millimeters. In some cases, the adipose develops to a large extent. Education is harmless for a person, while it does not bother him, but here lies the danger of suppuration and transmission of infection. In case of complications related to suppuration, the compaction in the ear lobe begins to ache, redness and swelling occur, and the body temperature rises. In many cases, after suppuration, the ball can open itself. After the rupture of the atheroma, a liquid mass emerges from it, consisting of pus, fat, and sycamore.
Education in earlobes can occur for various reasons. The most common are unfavorable environmental conditions and a violation in the human body of metabolism. Sometimes the cause of atheroma are hormonal disorders and hyperhidrosis. There are theories about hereditary transmission of the disease.
A ball in the earlobe may be located for several years, without causing a person special anxiety. But it must be remembered that atheroma is a neoplasm requiring treatment. And it is desirable to get rid of it before the inflammation occurs. If there is still a fester in the lobe, you should immediately consult a doctor. When treatment is performed, the cyst is opened, the contents are removed and bandages are made. In severe cases, antibiotics are prescribed. When the complete healing of the atheroma occurs (in a month), it must be removed, since inflammation can occur many times.
Sad is the fact that patients come to the clinic when the ball in the earlobe becomes inflamed and becomes pronounced. Do not forget that the treatment of an ailment needs to start not only in cases when it causes moral and physical discomfort. First of all, atheroma is a pathology, and wherever it appears, it should be removed. Do not wait for the ball in the earlobe to grow: the smaller its size, the easier it is to remove it, and fewer traces will remain after the operation.
Atheroma often develops on oily skin to prevent its formation, it is recommended in a bath or during bathing to rub the skin with a washcloth with soap. Also, you should limit the use of spicy foods, fat-rich foods, sweets and flour products.
If the ball begins to increase on the earlobe, a surgical operation is performed. For complete elimination of the pathology of simple opening of education and removal of its contents is not enough, it is also necessary to get the capsule. Otherwise, the atheroma will grow again.
Operative intervention is performed under local anesthesia. On the earlobe, an incision is made through which the cyst and her capsule are removed. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, and after it the patient can go home.
There are more advanced methods for treating atheroma of the ear: laser and radio wave removal. Laser treatment is performed at the initial stages of the disease. The method of radio waves consists in evaporation of the contents and cells of the neoplasm with the help of special technology, without performing surgical manipulations.
Surgery is resorted to in cases where both methods have not produced visible results.
