Attraction is ... The concept and methods of attraction

Attraction is (in psychology) a complex and versatile concept. In short, it determines the sympathy of one person to another. Attraction is a gravitation, and mutual.

Psychological definition

Different sources give roughly the same interpretation to this concept, but they all mean roughly the same thing. Attraction is an expression of sympathy, a friendly type of communication, a manifestation of warm and friendly feelings. And the development of attractiveness occurs, as a rule, as a result of the emotional and somewhat specific relationship of one individual to another. Evaluation of the sensations that arise in this case, participants in the communicative act, generates a huge range of feelings, brilliant diversity. It can be anything, from ordinary human interest to love, which often grows quickly into love. And all these emotions are expressed in the particular attitude of one person towards another.

Since the inception of psychology, specialists in this field of activity, along with sociologists, have studied the principle of the formation of attachments, as well as various feelings between people. As a result of various studies, the notion of "attraction" appeared, and this became the impetus for further study of people. A genuine interest is also caused by the reasons for the appearance of sympathy, then under what circumstances it happened, what was the distance between them, how often opponents are seen and much more.

Individuality is the determining factor

Why does one person perceive different people differently? One he can incredibly like, and he would be happy to communicate with him for hours on end. Another person simply does not tolerate the spirit and dreams about the disappearance of that of his life. It's all about individuality. But not only in this.

The first impression and opinion, created on its soil, is very important. Psychologists have proved that it is the basis for building up subsequent communication. For a few seconds you can understand whether there is a prospect for communication or not. And in most cases the first opinion does not deceive people. Appearance, the smell of cologne, gestures, behavior, clothes, manners, intonation, look - all this forms the opinion of one opponent about the other. All this shows the person as he is. Something, of course, can be concealed, but it is impossible to follow all the details. And if two people meet each other's standards, then the likelihood of sympathy or at least the desire to communicate is great.

Grammar

By the way, it should be noted that the attraction is also a turn that is expressed in the absence of a certain syntactic connection between one and the second members of the proposal. That is, the genitive case could not be used together with the subject. One of the most striking examples is the phrase, which sounds like "killed by elephants' feet". It sounds strange, but at a time when the paratactic system dominated the language, it was normal. In our time this sentence looks like this - "killed by the feet of elephants". The genitive case is evident. This is the specificity of the syntactic attraction.

Attraction levels

Attraction is in psychology a fairly detailed term, which includes a few more. It's worth talking about her levels. There are only three - sympathy, friendship and love. As you can see, the levels are positive. There is no such thing as "dislike", for example. That's right, because attraction is a manifestation of positive emotions. But the emotional assessment of "hate" begins to form in the event that one individual for some reason begins to irritate the other. Situations are different, and almost all of us they are familiar with.
Each level has its own characteristics. Sympathy, for example, is a manifestation of goodwill, politeness, the desire to show attention, help or communicate. Friendship is something more thorough, characterized by the emergence of a strong and stable attachment of one person to another. And, finally, love. This is the highest degree of relationship. It should be discussed in more detail.

Attraction in intimate relationships

Why is it like this: the guy got acquainted with several hundred girls, but they all rejected it, but in the sixth decade he met the one who showed an incredible craving for a close relationship with him and, by a lucky chance, approached his parameters? Because it corresponds to its standards. And she is his. She likes just such people. So all the previous girls had different tastes. And completely different ideas about interpersonal relationships. This is where the attraction is shown. This is only one case of a million.

If we talk about intimate relations, then it should be noted that everything plays a role here. Appearance, character, interests, views on life, goals. Interpersonal attraction is not just sympathy. It is also a social attitude, formed on the basis of the analysis of the personality with which communication takes place, and everything connected with it. Let some people say that only appearance or character is important to them - this is only the first time it seems so. It is necessary to remember about such concept, as balance. It refers directly to the term "attraction". What is it? Harmonious combination of all personal and external qualities of a person. Everyone has his own taste, but all people want to have a close relationship with someone who will and look good, and interests with views have similar, and a pleasant character. Everybody has their own ideal. And every such image is perfection for the person who dreams about him in the subconscious. And sometimes in reality. Only often such people remain alone, because it is rarely possible to find the ideal that was able to draw in your imagination. Others, long ago realizing that perfection is unlikely to meet, have already forgotten about these images and live happily with that person who, perhaps, is not perfect in everything, but it was with him that everything turned out, and it's good.
