On the planet Earth there are and interact with each other more than two hundred and fifty countries, several thousand nationalities, nationalities, nations - large and small. And each of them has its own characteristics, customs and traditions, formed during the centuries characteristic features. There are also artistic symbols of the peoples of the world, reflecting their idea of being, religion, philosophy and other knowledge and concepts. In different countries they differ among themselves, possessing the uniqueness and originality inherent in this or that piece of the planet. They do not directly depend on state power, but are formed at times when the authorities and rulers change by the people themselves. What are the artistic symbols of the peoples of the world in the conventional sense of the word?

Symbol

Roughly speaking, a symbol is a hypertrophied sign. That is, the image is, as a rule, schematic and conditional, of any object, animal, plant, or concept, quality, phenomenon, idea. From the sign the symbol is distinguished by the sacral context, the moment of normality and social or religious-mystical spirituality, expressed in the image (as a rule, schematically and simplistically).

Probably, each country has its own "man-made miracles" made by people. Not for nothing in ancient times, distinguished "the seven miracles", which were considered, certainly, original artistic symbols (the first list was put down by Herodotus in the fifth century BC - there were only three miracles in it). They included the pyramid of Cheops, the gardens of Semiramis, the statue of Zeus, the Alexandria lighthouse and others. The list varied over the centuries: some names were added, others disappeared. Many artistic symbols of the peoples of the world have not survived to this day. After all, in fact, there were an immeasurable number of them at all times in different nations. Just the number seven was considered sacral, magical. But time has preserved to date only a few symbols of the peoples of the world.

• The leading position in it, of course, is occupied by the Egyptian pyramids. Scientists are still arguing about their origin and the phenomenon of construction. But the fact remains: this is one of the global wonders of the world, surviving to our days since ancient times. An artistic symbol, which is really worth a look!
• In China, national pride and impeccable artistic symbol - the Great Wall. It lasts many kilometers, from the very depths of centuries in our times!
• In England it is Stonehenge, at first glance, a bunch of stones piled into piles. But how fascinating! And how many years of this magical construction - scientists still can not exactly determine. No wonder many pilgrims annually go there.
• From the most ancient you can especially highlight idols from Easter Island. That's really, really, monumental works!
• To more modern are: the Eiffel Tower (Paris), the Statue of Liberty (New York), the Statue of Christ in Brazil (Rio). These man-made works were created already in our era. But some modernity does not interfere with perceiving them as global artistic symbols of the peoples of the world (see the pictures above and below).
