Article of goods - the definition of it, a designation that is fixed, alphabetic or numerical, the value for the classification of a certain type of goods: the manufacturer, color, composition and other distinctive characteristics. For example, coats of different colors will have a different article, and differ only in color. The article's article is a constant value and is assigned to the goods when it is received at the warehouse of the enterprise or a trade point. Assignment occurs by manual method or by means of special programs for accounting of commodity-material assets.

Software entry of goods in the general storage base, as a rule, occurs with the help of devices for reading barcodes. Write-off occurs in the same way. This process can often be observed in the grocery supermarket or a large hypermarket of manufactured goods.

What is the advantage of using the article number? It allows you to exclude the elementary re-sorting of goods, correctly classify the products and record these data in the table of articles of the enterprise, and then perform a quick search.

This is very convenient when in the nomenclature of the organization there is the same product from different suppliers. To search for a position, you need to find the article in the catalog. At the same time, even a new employee who does not know the specifics of the product and its exact names will be able to cope with such a simple operation.

The process of assigning an article to goods begins with production, ending its technological chain in a temporary production warehouse, where the final article of goods is formed. Each company develops its own articles. They, of course, may overlap with other trade organizations, but if only the turnover of the same goods is going on and the European Article Number (ENA) is used. In it, from the thirteen-digit code, the penultimate three digits are taken. This will be the article of goods, but basically it is appropriated manually and each enterprise - its own.

For the most part, the article is needed for the correct turnover of goods within the organization, and not the conduct of external trading activities. In the USSR, a common articulatory system was used, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers and used by all trade and warehouse organizations. This made it possible to simplify trade relations in a single state.

The typography of articles, approved by the Ministry, was printed in special catalogs that contained dozens of volumes of the printed edition. Each commodity manager of the country used these publications.

If the account is maintained inside the enterprise, then the article of goods is appropriated as you like, as the warehouse is filled with nomenclature items, perhaps even in arithmetical order, special labels are issued with the name, short description and the article itself. If this is the external turnover of the goods, then all these data are encoded in the bar code of the goods, that is, in the same ENA.

If we have a program 1C "Enterprise Accounting", in order to avoid duplication of products and entering the same positions, you should write the article of goods directly in the "Article" column, and not before the name of the product, as many do. What does this give? And this gives you that when you write in the column "Search by product name", the desired position with the assigned article in the next line is highlighted. Also, on the contrary, when you enter the article there is the necessary item and the desired product.

What happens when you write an article before the name of the product? This, of course, is convenient, but only for those who know the article for memory. Well, there will not be one person to do this and have an impeccable memory. He can get sick, go on vacation, go for promotion. Written in front of the serial number will block all system settings search by article, and search by name will not bring results.

"Coat green demi-season" system will not find if it is recorded "1234 Coat green", but will move this position up the list. With this input error, a person will assume that such a position does not exist and will make a mistake by entering and replacing the given item.
