Are people predators or herbivores? Comparison, features and characteristics

In modern conditions, man no longer has to hunt to survive. But we were hunters for a very long time, much longer than there is a modern society. At that time, no one came to mind the question of who such a person is. Is it a carnivorous or herbivorous creature? For hundreds of thousands of years we lived on a diet that consisted mainly of meat with the addition of a variety of berries and fruits. People went through many stages of evolution and turned into predators, killing to get meat, the most nutritious source of energy.

A World Without Predators

What happens if lions, tigers and bears are pulled out of their natural habitat? The consequences will be catastrophic. The growth of populations of antelopes, giraffes and zebras will cease to hold back, and they will quickly grow. This process will be completely uncontrolled. Steppes and savannas, trampled by huge herds, will turn into deserts.

Every living species is a kind of spoke in one huge wheel of life. Remove one group, for example, predators, and the wheel can not withstand the weight of those who stayed.

Who are people now - predators or herbivores?

From a young age, we are told that the best diet is the one with the least amount of meat and fat. The rationale for such a theory is relatively simple, although it is not based on any scientific data:

Low amount of fat consumed = Small amount of stored fat.

In today's society, the problem of excessive weight has become very important. However, everything that we learned at school contradicts the fact that obese people eat mainly carbohydrates. Given that it is on carbohydrates account for up to 80% of the diet of modern man, think, is there a connection between their consumption and the obesity epidemic? And what are the reasons that type 2 diabetes for the first time in our history began to appear in young children?

Can not supposedly "useful" carbohydrates be one of the reasons for the deterioration in the health of the human species? And who is a man by nature: a predator or a herbivore, should we hunt like our ancestors, or does our role consist in preserving the animal kingdom that is shrinking at an alarming rate? Do we need meat, or vegetables and cereals to replace animals that people used to hunt?

Vegetarianism makes a man more stupid

Vegetarianism in the past 20-30 years has become popular, as never before, and theoretically there are reasons. Vegetarianism, like its more radical branch called veganism, is based on the idea that killing animals is a crime. That people are more adapted to a plant diet. That there is no need to kill animals, so do not do this.

Together with environmental organizations, vegetarians have declared their way of life "an environmentally friendly way of life and nutrition." With this no problem.

But read what Lirre Keith, a former vegan supporter, writes, and now the author of the book "Vegetarian myth": "Agriculture is carnivorous: it feeds on the ecosystem itself, while it devours it without a trace." Agriculture is the basis of the ideology of vegetarians and vegans. They want to convince people to eat more cereals, cereals and soybeans, because they think that refusing to eat meat will allow us to save animals, and then the entire planet.

Further, Lirr says: "The truth is that agriculture is the most destructive for the planet kind of human activity, and increasing its volume will not save us. The truth is also that the complete destruction of the whole ecosystem is required for agriculture. The truth is that life is impossible without death: no matter what you eat - someone will still die to feed you. "

Our task is not to over-convince vegetarians or vegans. Each person himself is determined exactly how he should eat. We just want to shed some light on some facts and decide who are people: predators or herbivores.

The twist of fate: vegetarians try to save animals and the entire planet, while contributing to the destruction of the natural habitat of the same animals and the resulting mass extinction of species around the world.

Is vegetarianism healthy?

Dr. Michael Eads, author of "The Power of Protein," argues that a vegetarian lifestyle does not make sense, since people are carnivorous in nature. Let's compare predators, herbivores, people. Just look at the human gastrointestinal tract and compare it to the lion's or pork's. Inside, we are built in the same way as a lion: with one stomach designed to digest the nutritious foods of animal origin that we eat for hundreds of thousands of years.

The structure of our insides differs from the structure of herbivores, having several stomachs, intended for the cleavage and digestion of nutrient-poor grains, which are now filled with our pantries and refrigerators.

For our existence, vitamin B12 is needed , and its best source, not counting special additives, is meat. Without vitamin B12 you will die.

Passion for 2 million years

If you think that a person's diet during the Paleolithic period is just a passing fad or a tribute to fashion, then tell me, what other fashion has existed for more than 2 million years? It's not so fancy, it's a hobby, is not it?

Do you still think that our place in the food pyramid is not at the top, next to other predators? Or that red meat and high protein in the diet is harmful to health? And that vegetarianism is the best way to feed people?

A comparison of predators, herbivores and humans regarding the physical structure we have already conducted. Now we will discuss the theory, according to which, mankind evolved in a direction that made us more fit for a vegetarian lifestyle. The result of the recent introduction of a large number of grains in our diet are some not very good evolutionary changes:

A) Narrowing of the nose, which makes breathing difficult.

B) Decrease of the jaws, because of which we now have to remove the wisdom teeth.

C) Reducing the volume of the brain (that is, a vegetarian diet makes humanity more stupid).

Intensive development of human intelligence occurs at a time when consumption of omega-3 fatty acids increased. In short, we started eating more meat, so after a while our brain became bigger. If we were vegetarian, like 2 million years ago, we would not even have learned to talk with coherent sentences. Our brain would not receive the nutrients needed to evolve and evolve.

We have adapted to eat food, which is very different from the modern diet. Recently, a scientific expedition was organized by one institute to study the bones of ancient people, to find out exactly what our ancestors were doing about 10,000 years ago, and to understand who are the people: predators or herbivores. In science, there are many theories based on the tools, weapons and bones that were found in the burials, but until recently there was no way to find out what was eating, to what category primordial people, predators or herbivores were referred.

It turned out that in an era when the brain, physical strength and growth were increasing in the process of evolution, people ate mainly meat and fish, as well as a much more diverse set of vegetables, nuts and berries than we can afford today. Grain, soy and rice as a source of nutrition did not exist.

Why should people eat meat?

The fact is that the liver releases the protein gradually. If you work harder, the body will give off more glucose. In fact, this should ensure a sustainable level of energy throughout the day. Therefore, each meal is better to start with the main source of protein. Supplement this protein with plenty of fruits and nuts (rich in fatty omega-3 fatty acids), and you will get a nutrition method that will increase testosterone production, increase energy levels and ability to concentrate. In addition, such a diet will help you maintain the body at peak efficiency for a longer time than depressant stimulants.

The man of the Paleolithic era moved all the time, which you can not say about us. We slide down a slippery slope that can not only destroy the planet, but also nullify all the millennia of the evolution of the human species that has led us to where we are. After the appearance of cereals (as well as dairy products) in our diet, we received a set of diseases, infections and allergic reactions, which had never before been in history.

Meat is not only useful, it is the main product that is vitally important for us.

So who is man after all: predator, omnivore or herbivore?

We are at the very top, along with other predators. Not at the expense of physical abilities, but due to highly developed mental abilities. Meat is a part of our nature. About the grasses can not be said.
