Apple Lobo - a grade of late maturing

The Lobo variety was created in Canada as a result of free pollination of seeds taken from the apple Macintosh. It is considered the culture of winter ripening.

In the early stages of the apple tree, Lobo grows rapidly. In this period, she forms a vertical crown of an oval shape. But over the years the growth of the tree slows, stopping at an average height. The shape of the crown also changes, which becomes broadly rounded, sparse. The fruiting of this culture mainly focuses on the rings and twigs.

The apple tree Lobo throws shoots with medium thickness, somewhat curved and cranked. Their color is dark brown with cherry tinge.

Lentils of this culture are large with an oval shape, and interstices with an average length.

The apple tree of Lobo, whose photo clearly shows the ovate large green leaves with strongly rounded tips and a heart-shaped base, has cuneiform or lanceolate petioles with small stipules.

Fruits are almost always large. Very rare fruit with a small size. Their shape can be either round-conical or flat-rounded. For apples of this class is characterized by a smooth silvery surface with a well-defined wax coating.

Apple Lobo, a description of which can be found in any specialized literature, gives fruits with a yellowish-green color. They are almost completely covered with a marble fuzzy raspberry-red blush.

This variety refers to the fast-growing, annually yielding a high yield. Their flesh is white and juicy, with a fine-grained consistency of pleasant sweet-sour taste.

Experts note the high resistance of this tree to dry weather conditions. Another advantage of the variety is its relative winter hardiness. In this case, the apple tree Lobo is weakly resistant to fungal lesions.

Today, this culture can be found in favorable climatic regions in many garden areas growing in stannic and strain-fighting forms. At the same time, in the very cold winter, the ground part of the tree freezes, but thanks to the live parts under the snow on the crown, it is restored again.

The fruits that the Lobo apple tree gives are usually collected in late September or early October, sometimes even later. They ripen under storage conditions only by January. When you pack apples in ordinary polyethylene bags, they are kept well until the very June.

Experts recommend that gardeners before planting seedlings must determine the level of groundwater on the site, because if they fall into the root system of the apple tree, Lobo may begin to develop poorly. As a result, it will begin to yield small crops, and also lose its winter hardiness and, in the end, die.

It is desirable to plant trees where ground flows pass at a depth of more than three meters.

In addition, when acquiring seedlings, you should always pay attention to the fact that both the branches and roots are elastic. In addition, the site of vaccination should be clearly visible on the cortex.

The timing of the planting of this variety of apples depends on the climate of the specific area. In the middle regions, the seedlings are placed in the ground three weeks before the onset of frost - somewhere from the middle of October. While in northern low-snow places it is better to plant in spring, in the last week of April.
