Andre-Pierre Gignac was born in 1985, on December 5, in the city of Martigues. His father is French. The mother is of Algerian origin.

André, like any other football player, started this sport from childhood. Already at the age of five he was a football school "Fos" at the same club. Then he transferred to the Martig academy. There he spent seven years (in Fos, only five). And in 2002 he became a part of the Lorient club. It was a whole new level, because the team from the region of Brittany performed in League 2.

First Andre-Pierre Gignac played for the youth squad, but then, in 2004, he signed a professional contract and almost immediately went on the field at the base. His debut match was held against "Chateauroux". And it was the most successful game. Did not have time to go and 10 seconds from the beginning of the match, as Andre scored a goal against the opponents.

Career

In 2005 Andre-Pierre Gignac moved to the club "Po" from the city of the same name, which decided to take a forward forwards. The team played in the third division, so Andre easily spent 18 matches, for which he scored 8 goals, after which he returned to Lorient. With his help the team entered the Premier League. And in the next season, in League 1, Gignac André-Pierre spent 37 games, sending 9 goals to the opponents' goal. By the way, three of them were scored in the first 27 minutes of the match against FC Nantom.

In 2007, the Algerian accepted an offer from Toulouse, which gave the attacker 4.5 million euros. Gignac was still interested in Lille. Moreover, Andre was already ready to go there, but the representatives of "Toulouse" offered more favorable conditions.

For three seasons, played in this team, the Algerian went on the field 97 times and sent to the opponents goal 34 goals. True, the first season he was not successful. Only two goals in 28 matches. But, most likely, such deplorable performance was observed due to the fact that Andre was not the main striker, but "helping" Juhan Elmander.

Last years

From 2010 to 2015 André-Pierre Gignac, photo of which was given above, played for the Marseille "Olympic". By the way, not long before that, he had extended the contract with Toulouse. Although they were interested in such teams as "Lyon", "Milan", "Juventus", "Arsenal" and "MU". Apparently, the proposed Olympique 60,000 pounds a week played a role. For five years, the Algerian played 158 matches and scored 60 goals. Although at some point there were rumors that Andre planned to sell - the effectiveness was not what the Marseilles club wanted to see it. As a result, he was simply sent to the second team, because Gignac strongly conflicted with Didier Deschamps. Forward demanded more playing time on the field, and the head coach had a different opinion on this matter.

In general, until 2015 he was in the "Olympic", and now defends the colors of the Mexican "WANL Tigres". And also - the national French team. Debut in the international arena forwards took place in 2009. Since then he has played 33 matches and scored 7 goals.
