The actor's biography shows that he was only six years old when his father, a participant of the Great Patriotic War, was killed. All the efforts to provide for the family fell on the shoulders of Herman's mother. She performed at the Kazan operetta and worked as a music teacher.

Not surprisingly, Herman Kachin, who happened to grow up in a creative environment, began to dream about the stage early. At first the boy was carried away by the theater, then he began to actively participate in creative amateur performances. By the time he left school, he no longer doubted that he would become an actor.

First success

It is interesting that Herman Kachin began to play in the theater before he received an acting education. His debut took place on the stage of the Kazan Drama Theater, but there he worked for no more than a year. Having received invaluable experience, the young man moved to the capital and became a student of the acting department of VGIK. He was assigned to the course, which was conducted by Olga Pyzhova.

His first role was given to a talented young man during his first year of studies. Of course, it was episodic, but the beginning was made. The debut for Kachin was the picture "Carnival Night", he starred in the crowd. After that, he got an episodic role in the "Midshipman Panin".

Role that did not exist

Few people know that Herman Kachin is an actor who could play Galtsev in the film "Ivan's Childhood", which in the past was very popular. This role was suggested to him by the film's director Andrei Tarkovsky, with whom the young man was in friendly relations. At first Herman agreed, but then refused, giving preference to the tape "Cossacks".

Scenario "Cossacks" liked Kachin more, in addition, his colleagues on the set were to become stars of the time, among them Gubanov, Kirienko, Andreev. Creating a family

After the release of the "Cossacks" Herman began to act in films. Nobody doubted that this talented guy is waiting for a bright future, but fate decreed otherwise. In 1962, the actor decided to bind himself in marriage, and in 1964 he had a son, Vyacheslav.

What else will his biography tell? Herman Kachin, whose family was very important, had to work hard. His wife worked as a pediatrician, her incomes were low. The actor, wanting to provide his wife and son with everything necessary, began to clutch at any proposals for filming. He readily agreed to pass-through roles, was shot in episodes, was engaged in dubbing. Colleagues and friends persuaded Kachin not to waste his talents on trifles, but he did not listen to them.

Different roles

By the early 70's, Kachin, who was once promised a brilliant future, firmly established the reputation of the episodic actor. He increasingly embodied images of nameless characters. Of course, Herman had successful roles. For example, he played a physical education teacher in the film "We'll Live Up to Monday", starred in "The End of the Emperor of the Taiga", "Merry Rasplyuev's Days".

The only major role

Surprisingly, but the talented actor only once happened to play a major role. Director Solovtsov suggested that he embody the image of the central character in his film "The Vivander". In this picture, Herman reincarnated as a servant of Stepan's nursery. Raznaryadka from the center tells the hero to kill the bear, whom he raised and brought up.

Unfortunately, the picture did not become very popular, and was soon banned from the show. In 2001, the director supplemented the film with scenes that were not in the original version, renamed it "The Bear's Trail".
