Leonid Stadnik - the tallest man in the world: growth, photo

In the world there are a lot of amazing things that amaze the imagination. Among such oddities is the tallest man in the world, who is almost twice as tall as the average inhabitant of the planet. Who is he? Where from? Which one has growth?

This Leonid Stepanovich Stadnik - Ukrainian, resident of Zhytomyr region, Chudnovsky district, the village Podolyantsy. Unfortunately, this extraordinary giant is no longer alive, he died in 2014 from a brain hemorrhage, but history has remembered such an unusual and kind person, for whom huge growth was the biggest problem in life, short and heavy.

The tallest man Leonid Stadnik

In 2007, the growth of Leonid Stadnik was 2 meters 53 centimeters, and the palm size - 30 centimeters. Prior to the discovery of Leonid, the title of the highest person in the world was worn by a resident of China Bao Xishun (2 meters 36 cm).

Leonid Stadnik is the tallest man in the world! The world did not recognize him immediately. Before the age of 34, Leonid lived relatively calmly, doing household chores and complaining about his enormous growth, caused by a pituitary tumor - a cerebral appendage, responsible for the function of growth and metabolism.

The usual childhood of an ordinary boy

Modest Leonid grew up, like all rural boys: in games, climbing trees and helping the mother in the household. He went to school, like all children, on time. In the first class was even slightly below the same age. At the age of twelve, a turning point occurred that determined Leonid's future life: hard and painful. Physicians found a young man with a benign brain tumor. An operation was performed, after which the child began to grow very actively; At the age of 18 Leonid stepped over a two-meter bar. The mother did not have time to buy her child shoes and clothes. After school, which Leonid Stadnik graduated with a gold medal, was further Zhytomyr Veterinary Institute, his young man also graduated with honors. Then, in Leonid's biography, he worked for ten years as a veterinarian on the collective farm.

Why did Leonid become so tall?

Leonid Stadnik (photo is located in the article) was very shy of his huge growth, he tried to crouch, so as not to stand out against the background of other people. At various public events, I was hammered into the darkest corner to be less noticeable.

At work, which was seven kilometers from home, Leonid bicycled, but an iron friend could not stand the weight of his master and constantly broke down. And this is natural, because with the growth of Leonid and his weight increased. Trying to find a way out, the guy bought himself a new vehicle - two horses and a cart, on which he got to work. One winter he caught a bad cold, then broke his left ankle. Gypsum doctors did not impose, as a result of this the left leg became shorter than the right one by a couple of centimeters. With a weight of about 200 kg Leonidas became increasingly difficult to move around, and he began to go less and less outside his own yard. In his own house the man walked, crouching. The problem of movement was urgent, because Leonid Stadnik, whose growth exceeded the usual twofold, could not move on public transport.

Household problems of the Ukrainian giant

There were huge problems with shoes and clothes, because such sizes on sale simply did not exist, at least in local markets. And if the clothes of the 70th size could still be ordered for tailoring, then with the shoes of the 62nd size, things were quite deplorable. Suddenly the world fame that hit upon Leonid somewhat eased the material side of the question; There appeared a large number of people who wanted to help the gorgeous giant. The craftsmen from Zaporozhye sewed sandals and shoes of very durable leather, the technicians built a special bicycle, which, unfortunately, broke, as soon as Leonid decided to ride it. At that time, the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko presented the Chevrolet car, which facilitated the movement of Leonid. True, behind the wheel, he did not sit down because of poor vision; Brought friends and friends. Learning about the problems of the tallest man in the world, Leonid began to write hundreds of people with words of support, and each he tried to answer.

Under his care, he was taken by a Californian doctor who twice visited Leonid and regularly consulted him on the Internet.

Unexpected and unwanted publicity

World fame, which brought Leonid glory and new acquaintances, greatly complicated the life of the giant-recluse. Firstly, registration in the Guinness Book of Records required a certain contribution, which for Leonid was a waybill; He was disabled from the 1st group, he did not work since 2004 due to the collapse of the economy and existed for a small disability pension and a subsidiary farm that did not bring income, but provided food products: eggs, milk, cottage cheese, meat.

Publicity could lead to the gate of Leonid any arriving for several hundred or even thousands of kilometers of the visitor, whose goal was a joint photo with the tallest man in the world. It was these unwelcome moments that broke the reclusive way of life of Leonid, whose inner world was concentrated in his own yard and his beloved vineyard - the work of his whole life. Indeed, such a hobby for the Zhytomyr region was somewhat unusual due to the inappropriate climate for perennial shrubs. But the love for them and the painstaking daily work gave Leonid, his mother and sister, with whom he lived under one roof, fragrant sweet bunches. Wine Leonid Stadnik did not, because he did not drink alcoholic beverages, and smoking did not interest him. From the grapes he made delicious juices.

Difficulties with Leonid's health

Many times the giants were offered to participate in various promotions, but he categorically refused. The monetary side of the question was of little interest; Leonid's cherished dream is to be the same as the rest of people, lead a normal life, dress in normal clothes, which in the market a large number, wear ordinary shoes, and not order it specially, and see. After all, vision due to the tumor growing in my head was getting worse every day, and the growth continued to increase, and in 2011 it was already 257 centimeters.

Leonid needed urgent surgical intervention, which was performed by the doctors of the clinic "Theophany". The operation was done on two tables together, and in the ward Leonid slept in two beds. The attitude of doctors and attendants to such an unusual and so much suffering person was very warm and sincere.

The loss of Leonid's mother

The last official measurements of Leonid Stadnik were the results of 2007; He simply refused to measure up, not going to be a sensation and surprise people, because the huge growth brought him only suffering. In 2009, Leonid refused official measurements and was deprived of the title of the tallest man in the world, losing to his Turk Sultan Kesen, whose growth was 2 meters 51 centimeters.

In 2011, the mother of Leonid Stadnik, Galina Pavlovna, did not become; Losing an dear man, Leonid was completely depressed, ceased to communicate with people, rarely began to leave the house. His favorites were plants and pets.

The highest Ukrainian has not become

August 23, 2014 Leonid was unable to get out of bed, fell to the floor. "First Aid" urgently took the man to the Zhitomir hospital, but could not save him. Leonid Stadnik died in the hospital on August 24. The cause of death is cerebral hemorrhage.

According to acquaintances, Leonid anticipated his death and was very worried that he would bring a lot of trouble to people who would be bored to bury him. He told his acquaintances that he was unlikely to live to be 45 years old. Indeed, his life ended in 44 years.

Leonid's modest funeral was attended by close friends, classmates, teachers. The length of the coffin was 3.5 meters.

To date, the highest is the Turk Sultan Kosen, he is below Leonid by 10 centimeters.
