Acclimatization after the sea: symptoms, treatment

Probably, there is no such person who would not wait for summer and holidays. After all, these two concepts are inseparable! For the most part of the population, vacation is always associated with the sea. However, often a pleasant journey ends with sad consequences, one of which is acclimatization after the sea.

What is acclimatization?

Acclimatization is the process of adaptation of the organism to a new habitat, in particular, to new weather conditions. A person who changes one climate zone to another has to rebuild both mentally and physically: get used to a new temperature, air, time difference (if there is one).

The most difficult are the acclimatization of children. All because their immunity is not quite resistant, the body is still weak and subject to various influences. The consequences of climate change can arise in people of retirement age, as well as those who suffer from chronic diseases.

Acclimatization: symptoms, treatment

In order to quickly overcome the period of acclimatization, you need to know what symptoms it manifests. So:

  • Elevated body temperature .
  • Headache, dizziness.
  • Coryza.
  • Diarrhea or, conversely, constipation.
  • Cough.
  • Disturbed sleep.
  • Weakness and fatigue.

Often such adaptation symptoms are confused with infectious diseases or viruses and, of course, begin medical treatment. However, this therapy is not always correct, moreover, it can exacerbate the process of adaptation to climate.

To avoid the consequences of acclimatization, one month before the planned trip you need to work hard on your body. The right way of life, a healthy diet, a complex of vitamins and minerals will help less painfully get used to new environmental conditions.

Acclimatization after the sea, the symptoms of which can be very different (more often they are symptoms of acute respiratory infections) will be easier if the vacation is planned correctly and the next day you do not have to go to work. It is always necessary to leave time to recover.

Types of acclimatization

Depending on where the rest is planned, the acclimatization period can be conditionally divided into addiction to hot, northern or mountainous climates.

One of the most common types of adaptation is adaptation to the marine climate and acclimatization after the sea. The first sign of adaptation to hot countries is the violation of water-salt metabolism. In connection with the increase in temperature, a person consumes a lot of liquid and, accordingly, less food. The body looks tired and exhausted. In parallel, thermoregulation is also disturbed. People are constantly sweating, feeling dizzy. There are headaches, rapid breathing, drying and redness of the skin.

Do not pass completely addictive to the cold, northern climate. Low air temperature, change in light conditions and lack of sun can cause:

  • Drowsiness and fatigue.
  • Decreased appetite.
  • Subcooling.
  • Insomnia, stress, depression.

Acclimatization in the highlands is quite difficult. The minimum amount of oxygen and high blood pressure sometimes have a very serious impact on health, especially in people with heart disease and upper respiratory tract. Shortness of breath, nausea, dizziness, noise in the ears - only a small proportion of those symptoms that are experienced by mountain tamers.

Therefore, the basic rule of any traveler is to prepare the body for the environment in which acclimatization will take place. What is the adaptation to the new climatic conditions? It also depends on the person's lifestyle and nutrition.

How to facilitate adaptation?

For any journey, you always need to prepare in advance. The preparation includes not only hotel reservation, packing of suitcases, compiling a route, but also tempering the body.

  1. It does not matter which country and climate it is going to visit, in any case the adaptation process is influenced by a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition.
  2. For health improvement of the body, rest in the country with other weather conditions should last no less than eight to twelve days. With children - up to twenty days.
  3. To change the time zones did not bring discomfort, you should still at home to adjust the regime of day and sleep.
  4. It is best to plan a trip so that the arrival falls on the evening. So after a long and tedious journey the body will rest during a night's sleep and will be less stressed.
  5. In the first days of rest, you do not need to make long walks and excursions. It is better to go out in the sun after 16 pm.
  6. If this is a mountain climate, do not rush to climb. The distances traveled per day are better limited to 600 meters.
  7. In the northern countries, the main thing is not to overcool. In addition to warm clothing, it is worth taking windproof jackets. In the first days, stay on the street should be minimized.
  8. In any trip, do not forget about vitamins. They will increase the body's defenses.

Acclimatization after the sea

It would seem, what could be better than a vacation at sea? Nothing! However, for some, such a holiday is always associated with acclimatization, especially if traveling together with children. Children, having unstable immunity, are much more difficult to adapt to environmental conditions - kindergarten, school. What to say about the sea!

That's why they do not tolerate not only the sea, but also the habituation to the home climate after the holidays. Such adaptation is called re-acclimatization and can be accompanied by the same symptoms as acclimatization.

To facilitate the state of yourself and your child, after coming home after the sea, you need:

  • More sleep, give the body a rest.
  • At work, as in kindergarten (school) it is better to go out after a few days.
  • In the first days after vacation should avoid physical and mental stress.
  • Adhere to the regime of the day and eat right (light soups and salads).
  • Avoid stressful situations and negative emotions.
  • If there is a cold after the sea, it is important not to stuff the body with antibiotics. In a few days the symptoms will disappear, and taking medication can only exacerbate the situation. Help fight against cold help vitamins and herbal teas.

When the acclimatization of a child after the sea does not take more than three to four days, you should consult a doctor. It is possible that the children's organism, as, indeed, the adult, could pick up some exotic virus or wand.

Rest with the mind!

Almost for each person, summer is a time of vacation and the sea. The sun, the sand, the blue waves are what dream for a whole year. To the long-awaited journey did not turn into torture, the body to rest in other climates should be prepared.

Acclimatization after the sea is normal. Symptoms of ARVI - this is not a reason to "sound alarm". The correct regime of the day, healthy sleep and nutrition will help to overcome the period of adaptation.
