And, of course, the state examination gave 100% confirmation that this drug can be included in clinical trials.

The first stage

It should be recalled how the first stage was going. It involved people who do not have the immunodeficiency virus. They were 21 people, among whom were both women and men. They were divided into three groups, each with its own specific dose of medication (0.25, 0.5 and 1 milligram). As a result of the tests it was found that this vaccine is absolutely harmless for health. This was the main goal of the first phase. A few more conclusions were drawn. First, we managed to find out that drug addicts are infected with only one piece of the virus. Secondly, some people who regularly enter into intimate contacts with those who have the immunodeficiency virus, did not fall ill. The body of these individuals allegedly blocked the disease. Here scientists had several assumptions - they could have previously met with a virus that is similar to HIV, and thus developed immunity directly to the disease of immunodeficiency. And, finally, the third - we managed to prove that HIV can be caught in the blood even on the first day of infection. And if you immediately start giving the infected special medications, then the disease will be avoided.

The second stage

In the next stage, 60 volunteers will participate, and all of them are infected, only by the virus of the subtype. Strictly speaking, the vaccine against HIV, developed by the medical center, is aimed specifically at fighting this disease. Again, the participants will be divided into three groups, the first two will be injected with 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg each, while the third will use the placebo effect. That is, inoculation with saline. Who will be in which group - is unknown. But the conditions are very strict. The end of testing of the vaccine against HIV is planned for the end of the next year, 2015, then the results will be summed up.

Features of the drug

The developed vaccine against HIV belongs to the fifth group on the hazard scale. In a word - it is completely safe and not toxic. In this preparation there is no infectious agent, therefore used ampoules are eliminated by an ordinary way. And the fact that this vaccine against HIV is safe was confirmed at the very first stage of the test. Actually the name, this drug is designated as "DNA-4". The medicine contains four special viral genes, I must say, this is enough to cover all parts of the genome. However, the center's scientists are already working out another drug, DNA-5.
