6 Ways to Extend the Life of a Laptop Battery

Every day you use your laptop, because it is incredibly convenient. It allows you to search for information, entertain yourself and work not only in the office or at home, but in any place convenient for you, without binding to the power grid. But at the same time, the battery of your laptop can quickly come to naught, and then you have to use your laptop as a stationary computer, which completely neutralizes all its advantages. Accordingly, you need to think about how to extend the life of your battery so that you can enjoy all its benefits as long as possible.

Do not let the laptop overheat

If you keep your laptop on your lap and feel that you are hot - you have problems. In the normal state, the laptop should not overheat, so you need to clean it, change the cooler and use a special stand that does not block air access to the inside of the laptop. If it overheats, it will negatively affect the battery.

How to get the battery?

The laptop battery needs to be removed from the case only if your laptop is completely turned off and disconnected from the mains. It would seem that this is quite an obvious remark, but very many people do not follow this advice and get the battery out of the working laptop or insert it back beforehand by connecting the laptop to the network. This is very harmful both for the battery itself and for your laptop.

Method 80/20

Everyone who uses the 80/20 method reports that his battery lives much longer. If you are not familiar with this method, then you should learn more about it. Its essence lies in the fact that you should never allow two things - that the charge of your battery falls below twenty percent and that it rises above eighty percent. Naturally, to achieve this result is not so simple, but if you try, you can seriously extend the life of your battery.

Do not overcharge

Even if you can not follow the 80/20 method, you definitely can not leave your laptop on charge for extended periods of time without supervision. The essence of this method is that you have to disconnect the laptop from charging at the same time, when it reaches hundreds of percent (or better still a little earlier). If you leave it on charging, when it has already reached 100%, then it will hurt your battery.

Do not completely discharge

Completely opposite rule, which is no less important. Just like you should never leave your laptop on charge after it's fully charged - you should not allow it to completely discharge and turn off from lack of energy. All this negatively affects your laptop, and most importantly - the battery life. Try to follow the 80/20 method, since it is the most effective. But even if you do not have time to put the laptop on charge, when it has not reached twenty percent of the charge, you should do it before it is completely discharged - then you can extend the life of your battery.

Do not use "Chrome"

"Google Chrome" to date is the most powerful and efficient web browser, it is used by millions of people, but it should pay attention to the fact that it consumes most of the computer resources. And if this is a stationary PC, then nothing terrible will happen. If you are using a laptop, then "Chrome" will constantly consume a little more power than any other browser, thereby quickly worn out your battery. If possible, protect your laptop from "Chrome" - use it on your personal computer, and for the laptop select any other browser, such as "Opera" or "Mozilla".
