The word itself came from the adverb "velmi" ("led"), which means "very". The second part of the concept of "nobleman" is the verb "can". Having combined the two halves, we get one who has great power.

In ancient Egypt, a nobleman, a nobleman, who helped manage the state, was considered close to Pharaoh. Of course, it was a special caste, which dealt with taxes, carried out command of the troops and punished the guilty.

Therefore, close to the pharaoh before leaving the house wore luxurious necklaces, bracelets and rings, made by the best masters.

As for the work, every grandee had his own duties assigned by Pharaoh himself. It could be the control over slaves in the quarries, the collection of taxes from artisans and farmers, the resolution of cases in court or the management of troops in the campaign. Such work was an object of special pride, therefore the grandees hired artists who painted the walls of the future tomb with colorful sketches from their real life.

The meaning of the word "grandee" in our days has not changed much. When the heads of state have close people - they represent the government, judicial and legislative power. Like the nobles and their stretchers, they move in the service cars of the premium class and live in the best apartments.

Has the word "grandee" changed a lot? This is not an easy question. Every citizen desires to be a wealthy person. But what about responsibility? Officials are obliged to work for the benefit of the state, execute the orders of the president, and, most importantly, under no circumstances to contact corruption. The latter, as we know, is the greatest problem of modern nobles.
