When the quail begins to sweep, and how to stimulate oviposition?

How many months does the quail begin to rush? What conditions should be ensured for a good egg-laying? How much is such a bird difficult to care for? These questions are often asked by fans of a product such as quail eggs. The latter are an exceptional finding for the human body, as they contain a large number of vitamins and a lot of useful microelements.

Benefits of quail eggs

Quail eggs are an excellent remedy for improving memory, normalizing the nervous system and enhancing immunity. They are of great benefit to the children's body: they stimulate mental activity, help in the treatment of respiratory diseases; In the body of a pregnant woman make up a reserve of calcium and protect against tooth enamel destruction.

For the prevention of long periods it is recommended to eat two eggs a day. By the way, this procedure is successfully practiced by Japanese schoolchildren and improves memory, vision and better development in general.

Solves such a universal product and men's issues, namely, increases the potency. The Germans have long tried one healing recipe. They drink four raw quail eggs on an empty stomach and drink them with a tablespoon of homemade beverage - vodka, infused on walnut septums.

Yaytsenosnye breeds

To obtain a valuable product, so to say, directly from the production capacity, many farmers create a unique bird in their farms and almost immediately ask themselves the question of how old the quail begins to be. But the fact is that their egg-laying depends not only on the age and conditions of the birds, but also on the breed.

The most common egg is the Japanese quail. Domesticated 1000 years ago, he lost the hatred effect, acquiring not less valuable quality - high egg production: a year more than 300 eggs, 10-12 g each. The live weight of the males of the named breed is 110-120 g, the females slightly exceed the males - 130-150 g. The chickens begin to swoop after 40-45 days. These quails are not capricious to the conditions of detention and are fundamental in breeding new breeds.

Marble quail. It is identical to the Japanese breed, from which it differs only in color.

English black. The body weight exceeds Japanese by 6-8%, significantly inferior at the same time in egg production. From other species are distinguished by black plumage, which has a slightly brown tinge. The weight of the female is 180-200 grams, the males - about 170 g. During the year, about 280 eggs can be obtained from the English black quail.

Kaitavers. This is an Estonian bird with exceptional egg production (310 eggs per year) and meat yield. The weight of the chicken is 190-210 g, the hen is 160-180 g.

On the egg-laying of quails

Possessing such a quality as rapid growth, the quail begins to rush at the age of 35-40 days. The live weight of the female is at this moment only 100 grams. When the quail begins to sweep, the number of eggs will be small - only up to 8 pieces per month. But then this indicator will increase, and in the next 6 months one layer will give about 25 eggs, therefore, their number for the year will be 300 pieces.

By the way, the egg mass (the average weight of 1 egg multiplied by the number of eggs) is 20-23 times more than the weight of the egg-laying hen, while for hens the same indicator is equal to 8.

Often eggs from young layers have a soft shell. This is due to the immaturity of the body. With proper bird care, the problem is resolved within 2 weeks.

On the nutritional quality quail eggs are several times better than chicken eggs and, by the way, do not cause allergies. In addition, this product does not deteriorate, because it contains lysozyme - a valuable amino acid, which does not allow the development of microflora. Therefore, you can store quail eggs at room temperature.

Peculiarities of oviposition in quails

In order to obtain eggs from individuals older than 1.5 months, it is required to form an egg-laying herd of chickens. The presence of bettas in it is possible, but not necessary. On productivity, this is reflected only when replacing the male. And in this case it will be necessary to wait a week before the resumption of laying. In addition, it is believed that an unfertilized egg has a greater nutritional value.

When will the quail begin to sweep? Typically, quail rushes in the afternoon or late at night. The bird in such an important process adheres to a certain routine: 5-6 days carries 1 egg each, then breaks for a couple of days.

If the egg production is absent for a long period, one should ask: why do not young quail begin to rush? Perhaps the bird was stressed during transportation, so you will need to have a two-week patience while the new herd is acclimatized and acclimated.

When the quail begins to be ridden at home cultivation

An important factor of stable egg production is the right conditions for care of quail:

  1. The bird needs to be kept in spacious cells, the optimal size of which for a herd of 30 individuals is 750 x 350 mm with a height of 250 mm.
  2. It should be borne in mind that overpopulation will negatively affect egg production. Therefore, in each individual cell it is recommended to grow only a one-aged herd.
  3. The purchased bird should be kept separate from the main herd in a different room for a month. And after adapting, the quails will resume egg-laying in about a week.
  4. It is highly discouraged to transplant them to another place, to place them in an already established group of new individuals, to rearrange cells with birds to another place, since this action causes fever stress. Also on the quail are frighteningly loud sounds.

How long does the quail start to roll?

The most comfortable for growing layers is the temperature of 20-22 o C. The lower or higher index negatively affects egg production. The optimum level of humidity should be - 60-70%.

It is also important to provide full lighting in the house for 16-17 hours a day. If the duration of the light day is less than 12 hours, the quail will no longer supply the farmer with eggs that are useful and in demand among consumers. Artificial illumination can correct the problem and help answer the question when the quail begins to sweep. However, it should be borne in mind that, if the light is too bright, shy birds can get stressed and start pecking at each other.

The drafts may be ruinous for them. Negatively affecting the fragile organism, they cause loss of feathers and, as a consequence, baldness. Yaytsenoskost in this case leaves much to be desired.

Cleanliness is an obligatory factor of care

An indispensable condition for quality care and stable egg production is cleanliness in the cells. Every day, with the sex of the cells, it is required to remove the litter, clean the feeders and wash the drinkers. Once a week, disinfect them with a solution of Creolin (2%) or Formalin (0.5%). Pairs of this drug should also be disinfected incubators and eggs planned for laying.

About the composition of feeds

The stability of egg production is affected by adequate nutrition, which should consist of balanced feeds. This is a well-ground corn and wheat with the possible addition of 10-15% of other grains or special full-feed feed. As a mandatory additive is recommended to use chalk, soy or oil meal, fish and meat- and -bone flour, containing a large number of amino acids. The strength of the shell will add to the use of mineral-rich gravel and seashells. Always keep fresh water in poultry houses.

Proper feeding for good egg production

Quail should provide a 3-time meal mode. At the same time, the feed consumption, necessarily fresh, for one female is about 20-30 grams, the male consumes about 18 grams. During the rest of the day, the feeders must be clean and empty. The lack of round the clock food available will cause a good appetite for feeding and will not allow birds to overeat. After all, overfeeding leads to obesity and, as a consequence, a decrease in egg production. It should be borne in mind that with an unbalanced diet and a sharp change in one type of food, another quail may stop egg-laying. And to wait, when the quail will begin to be carried, it is necessary to 2 weeks. During this time, their body can fully recover, but nutrition should be, again, correctly balanced.

Why are not quail rushing? The reason for this may be the age factor, when the body of the female is simply worn out. A year later, the egg production rate may drop to 50%, and the layers should be replaced by young individuals, and the old chickens will go to meat. Also quail ceases to be carried during moulting.

Low egg production due to disease

Be sure to periodically inspect the quail for a disease, which can also cause a lack of egg production. Healthy quail is always mobile and active, characterized by a good appetite. They have a smooth shiny feathers, without disheveled and shaggy, and the wings and legs move well. Being a bird with a high enough immunity, with poor care quail can still get infected with various infections that enter the body with water, food and air when replenishing the herd.

A huge danger for quail is Newcastle disease, which leads to the death of the bird for several hours. Infection is caused by contact of a healthy individual with the patient, and infection through litter is also observed. Distributors of the disease are dogs, rats, waterfowl.

In diseased quails, there is a state of constant drowsiness, shortness of breath, lack of appetite, and discharge from the mucus's beak. In such cases, compulsory isolation of the infected individual and consultation of the veterinarian are necessary.
