What to feed the gosling in the first month of life?

In this article we will talk about what to feed the gosling, so that he grows healthy and strong. This issue is paramount for farmers. As soon as the goslings dry, they must be fed at once. In the first month of life, nutrition should be intense, and most importantly, balanced.

Feeding in the first two weeks

Many poultry-lovers ask themselves the question: "What can be fed goslings, and what can not?". In fact, it is possible to feed much more than the main thing, that in the first week of life the youngsters should receive adequate nutrition. To do this, boil the eggs, finely chop and mix them with crushed corn, oatmeal or semolina, mixed fodder. You can add dry white bread, previously soaked in water. Very useful is the finely chopped greens of dandelion, nettle, alfalfa. Crushed root crops (beets, carrots) perfectly complement the diet of goslings. When the chicks will be 4-5 days, enter into their menu cake, as well as dairy products (cottage cheese, sour milk, return). Two-week-old goslings are prepared with mixed fodders or cereal (sifted from shells) mixed with milk or broth. If there is still no fresh herbs, then you need to add vitamins to the feed. Get a special meal of vitamins and herbs or prepare the mixture yourself. To do this, mix hayweed, ordinary yeast and fish oil. Chalk, gravel or sand is also recommended to add. Now you know what to feed the 2-week-old goslings. But how often do you need to do this? Up to a month, the frequency of meals should be about 7 times a day, while in the water must constantly be clean boiled water, as geese (like ducks) drink down the food with water.

Feeding goslings from the third week of life

What to feed the gosling at the age of three weeks? During this period, a third of the grain feed can be replaced with boiled potatoes, and food residues are also suitable. Continue to give cake, greens, vegetables, peas, shell or chalk, add salt. Translate the geese for 3-4 meals a day. In the morning and in the evening, feed the mashed bread, and in the daytime chopped vegetables and greens. At night, you can put in the trough just crushed or grain wastes. Now the young can be transferred to an unheated room and walk, conducting water procedures. If the street is very hot, then it is desirable to take care of the canopy.

Feeding the monthly goslings

When the young will turn a month, the question of what to feed the gosling will be solved. Now you can safely go on whole grains (sprouted or soaked). It is enough to pour the food 3 times a day. By this time there are a lot of grass, so the main source of food for geese will be green.

Some rules for feeding and care

Having decided what to feed the gosling, let's talk about some subtleties in care and content:

  • The first couple of days brood fed from trays, and drinkers should be vacuum;
  • From the week-old they are transferred to wooden troughs;
  • Feeding troughs for an adult bird are set when the young will be 1.5 months old;
  • Always apply fresh food, and clean the feeders before each feeding;
  • Do not use water from ponds, especially for goslings up to 1 month;
  • In a day make a solution of water and potassium permanganate in light pink color (for disease prevention);
  • Walking starts from 15 minutes a day;
  • Water procedures should begin with warm water, then the temperature gradually decreases.

As you can see, there is nothing difficult in feeding goslings. The main thing is to provide them with nutrients in the first month of life, and then only to support growth.
