What secrets hides the bridge of Overtone, who took the lives of four-legged pets?

Abnormal zones on our planet are of particular interest to scientists and ordinary people trying to understand the causes of unexplained phenomena. One of the most mystical places, the mystery of which no one can unravel, is in Scotland, in a well-known world-wide estate.

Overtown Bridge: History

In a small village of Milton is a manor, owned by Sir DW Overtone. The young master, who dreamed of expanding the territory of the tribal castle, achieved the accession of a huge piece of church land, separated from the possessions by a small river. James thought about erecting a bridge, which appeared in 1859.

The estate after the death of the owner changed owners, resold and in the last century became municipal property. However, not about the gloomy castle in which the scary people of ghosts could well live, our today's story.

"Killer of dogs"

The thing is that the arched bridge, which appeared more than a century ago, has become notorious because of the massive suicide of dogs. About the mysterious Overtoun Bridge began talking in 1951, when the first case of suicide of a four-legged friend was recorded. After five years of such tragic incidents, there were more than fifty. Every month the dog jumped from a height of about 15 meters to the rocks, breaking to death.

Local residents were surprised by the fact that even accidentally surviving animals, but seriously crippled, again climbed the bridge overton and jumped headfirst. And they had a certain place for a lethal jump - on the right side of the structure, between the last two parapets.

Versions

A version has appeared that the bridge Overtown (Scotland) is in an abnormal zone, on the border between the living and the dead world, and dogs with a fine scent feel the mystical portal and try to look into it, paying for their curiosity with their lives. Animals are very sensitive to disembodied spirits, and it is possible that the invisible ghosts that live here are very frightened by dogs, and they forget about the instinct of self-preservation. Curiously, the long-suffering breeds of dogs are particularly passionate about suicide.

Another ancient legend says that the river is to blame, over which the Overtown Bridge is built in Scotland. Allegedly, it feeds on the blood of animals and makes them thoughtlessly jump from a height.

Giving or Reality?

The locals, who called the Overtown Bridge cursed, were afraid to walk along it and walked around a mile. They were frightened by the events that were happening, as the four-footed man does not tend to commit suicide.

How to know, perhaps it was not for nothing that people felt the danger of this place, because in 1994 a madman threw his child off the bridge, and later committed suicide by jumping down. As the village gossips told, the crazy father, before killing his child, shouted that his son was the Antichrist. True, many scientists consider this incident only a fiction aimed at attracting interest in Overtown.

However, there were those who believed in the reality of the event, according to legends, much earlier, several centuries ago. Some residents are convinced that the spirit of the boy killed by the father dwells in the river, and once a month the ghost returns to the bridge of Overton (Scotland) to play with the dogs. The lonely child calls to himself four-legged friends, and they, feeling a ghost, jump on the rocks.

And someone is sure that dogs see a child falling down and forget about their height fear, trying to save an ethereal spirit.

Research ethologist

Be that as it may, but after numerous tragedies the bridge was interested by scientists from other countries, and the famous expert on the behavior of domestic animals D. Sexton found traces of rodent excrement in the place where hunting dog dogs landed. He stated that the products of the activity of mink and rats affect the behavior of dogs.

The expert even conducted an independent experiment, which resulted in his report. The fact that a strong odor of urine rodents reacts to 28 dogs of thirty, and it is to him that they flee, not paying attention even to the owner. "There is no mysticism here," Sexton summed up, and many experts agreed with him. The conclusions of the ethologist formed the basis for the official version of a realistic explanation for the four-legged suicides that occurred on the bridge.

Point not delivered

True, if we follow this theory, then the frequency of lethal jumps of dogs of different breeds and their repetition is incomprehensible. Nobody could explain the staggering regularity of suicides, the number of which exceeded two hundred episodes.

And the villagers are completely convinced that dogs are not cats, and they will not just rush at rats at the risk of their lives.

The mysterious Overtown Bridge attracts tourists who want to get to the real cause of the events, because the point is not set, and the dogs are making a death flight to this day. Locals do not recommend even people to walk on the anomalous zone, next to the entrance to which is a poster, urging to keep four-legged pets on a leash.
