What is the meaning of the road sign "brick"? The sign of traffic rules - "brick"

The world, in which cars by the amount almost equaled the population of the whole planet, needs a system of measures that limit and create strict control on the roads. One of such measures of traffic control became dividing lines on roads, traffic lights and semaphores, road signs, barriers. Naturally, do not forget about the traffic rules - the main set of laws and rules for the implementation of the movement.

Road signs and their meaning

The greatest attention was paid to road signs because of their great diversity, as well as the many nuances that are associated with them. Going out into the street, on the first road, you can undoubtedly find a road sign: "brick", "ring", "triangle". The folksy description, of course, will not give any idea of what should be done at the sight of a sign: after all, it informs about something or, conversely, prohibits any action.

Below we will consider the road prohibiting sign "brick" (named after the characteristic form), since it is one of the most controversial.

Types of road signs

To begin, consider the concept of "road sign". It is, first of all, a technical tool that has its own standard and is placed along the road for the purpose of ensuring road safety by conveying information to its participants using graphic drawings.

In modern SDA allocate 8 categories, most accurately uniting different road signs:

  • Warning (most useful road signs, giving the driver the opportunity to know in advance about the alleged danger, whether it's a sharp turn or a slippery road);
  • Priority signs (necessary to regulate the order of intersections and crossings of carriageways);
  • Prohibiting (on the basis of the name - prohibit the driver from performing any actions, for example, "Entry is prohibited" (in the common people, its name sounds like "brick"), a sign of mass restriction, etc.);
  • Prescribing (for example, the sign "Bike path");
  • Signs of special regulations ("Pedestrian crossing" as the most famous);
  • Information;
  • Service marks ("Petrol station", "Hospital", "Food station", etc.);
  • Signs of additional information.

Prohibiting road signs

One of the most necessary road signs, installed along the road, are prohibitive. They are designed to ensure safe traffic, limiting or, conversely, removing restrictions. There are more than 30 prohibiting road signs. The main ones are:

  • Road sign "Entry prohibited";
  • Prohibiting traffic signs "Pedestrian / power-driven vehicles / motorcycles / tractors / trucks / horse-drawn carriages / cycling prohibited";
  • Signs "Turn left / turn right / turn / overtake prohibited";
  • "Maximum speed limit";
  • Road signs "End of the maximum speed limit / prohibition of overtaking by trucks / prohibition of overtaking / all restrictions";
  • "Stopping is prohibited", and also "Parking is prohibited", etc.

It should be noted that for these road signs, there are refinements when they are near each other, as well as certain situations for which their action does not apply.

What does the road sign "brick" mean and what does it look like?

Do not call upon the old sages and great minds to decide what a prohibition sign is. For example, "Entry prohibited" is a road sign depicted in the form of a horizontally arranged rectangle in the center on a red circle, which prohibits both entry and passage of motor vehicles on a section of the road in a certain direction. Exceptions may be vehicles that are traveling on this section of the road along the established route and have the relevant supporting documents.

Once again, attention should be focused on the fact that this sign is very often installed in one-way roads in order to avoid a possible traffic accident. He forbids movement only in one direction, and so do not be surprised at the moving vehicle, it moves quite legitimately.

"Brick" - a sign that can not be passed, otherwise it is fraught with sanctions from the traffic police

When considering the violation committed as a result of travel under the sign "brick", we should first start from the definition of the action that was committed. If a violation of the requirements of a road sign is only considered, then in accordance with the law the driver will be liable in the form of a fine of about 300 rubles or get rid of only by a warning from traffic police officers. In other words, if only the passage under the sign "brick" is considered, the fine will not become a significant financial problem for the driver.

However, if, in case of non-observance of the requirements of the road sign "Entry prohibited", the motor vehicle driver also violated other provisions of the traffic rules, previously ignoring the above symbol, then the amount of responsibility increases by an order of magnitude. And the severity of the perfect deed will be considered in conjunction with such a violation as the passage under the sign "brick."

Penalty for the traffic under the road sign in conjunction with other violations

As it was mentioned above, if the driver of motor transport did not comply with the requirements of the sign "brick" at the same time committed violations, established by other signs, then the amount of punishment becomes associated with the latter.

So, for example, violating at the same time the traffic rule prohibiting movement in the opposite direction along a road on which a two-way traffic was not provided, the driver will face the possibility of deprivation of rights for a period of 4-6 months or a fine of up to 5 Thousand rubles. For a repeated violation - the deprivation of rights for a whole year. And this can happen only because you ignore the "brick" - a sign that prohibits entry.

Another option may be a concomitant violation of the sign "Turn left or turn". The penalty in this situation is also not the most lenient, and to be more precise, it will cost the driver in the amount of 1-1,5 thousand rubles.

Exceptions for the traffic sign "Entry prohibited"

The sign "brick", exceptions for which can be counted on the fingers, still has those. To begin with, it is worth considering cases for which this sign is no exception to avoid possible misunderstandings. "Entry is prohibited" can not be ignored by drivers who have an acute desire or need for something: "I have taken my stomach", "the iron has remained unconnected", "an important match is in progress". Before the "sword" of the law all are equal, only emergency services can be an exclusive right, provided the siren is turned on and other aspects. Also, they can not, as an exception, consider their travel under the prohibitory sign for those drivers whose parking or residence is associated with the need to violate the aforementioned mark. For these actions, the driver will be punished, as they say, to the full extent of the law.

"Brick" is a sign under which it is possible to pass only if the traffic is carried out only along the established route and if there are relevant documents. Only then the driver has the right to drive under this symbol and stay without penalty and with rights.

Place of installation of the sign "Entry prohibited"

To choose the place of installation of the prohibitory sign, as well as any other, regardless of the category and type, it is necessary to approach with great responsibility. This is due to the need to take into account both the intensity and possible, permissible speed of vehicles on a given site.

An obligatory criterion, without which the road sign will be considered invalid, is the distance of its visibility. According to the standards, the prohibiting sign "Entry prohibited" must be in the visible zone at a distance of up to 100 meters. If this condition is not met, then the driver has the right to consider himself innocent when traveling under him.

The area of the prohibitory sign "brick"

The area of action of the "brick", like most prohibitory signs, is usually limited to the distance from it to the nearest intersection or to the end of the settlement boundary in the absence of such an intersection. If the sign needs to be enlarged by the length of its operation, then the only option is to repeat it with each new intersection. Similarly, if necessary, to reduce the area of the traffic sign, it can be limited to other signs that remove the previous restrictions, or by placing the appropriate plates directly under the symbol itself, indicating the exact distance.

Summing up, we can conclude that, knowing the law and using it skillfully and correctly, the driver can avoid possible problems, and not become an object of fraud for persons manipulating loopholes in the laws.
