What is the browser cache and how do I clear it?

Often you can see that the browser immediately after installation works quite quickly, and after a while its work slows down. In this case, you should know what the browser cache is and how to clean it. It should be noted that this procedure should be carried out quite regularly, as it is very important for increasing the speed of loading pages. It does not matter which application is used for web surfing, since clearing the cache will be useful to any browser.

Before you start cleaning, you should find out what the browser cache is and what it's for. Since the work in the network is connected with the viewing of websites, it is very important that they are loaded faster. Internet resources contain on their pages a large number of different multimedia content, among which flash content, video, etc. In turn, the browser, in order to quickly open a site visited by a user, remembers all information about it. Therefore, when you reload the web page, the speed of its display will be much higher.

To understand what the browser cache is , you can present it as a database, where all information about the pages you visit is entered. During the next download of the page already visited, some of its components will be extracted from the cache rather than from the Internet. Access to this temporary storage is only in the browser, the user can not independently open and check its contents. It is clear that traveling to web sites every day increases the amount of data stored on the computer, which makes it difficult to find the right information inside the cache. This can cause a paradoxical situation, when a component created to accelerate the load, slows down not only the browser, but the entire operating system.

Knowing what the browser cache is, you can consider how it is cleaned in applications from different developers. This procedure is quite simple, but it is implemented in different ways. In Google Chrome you need to open the history menu. The easiest way to do this is to use the combination "Ctrl + H". In the window that opens, you need to activate the "Clear history" option, where you should specify the time for which you want to clean up, and select the "Clear cache" sub-item.

In Firefox, the cache can be cleared in the "Erase Recent History" window, which opens with the "Ctrl + Shift + Alt" shortcut. After selecting the time period, you need to click "Details", where you can specify what you want to clear.

For those who use Microsoft's browser, you need to open the Tools menu on the toolbar. Then select "Internet Options" and "General". A window will open where you should check the box next to the line "Temporary Internet files" and confirm your intention by clicking on the "Delete" button.

Cache Opera is cleared through the "Settings" - "Advanced" menu or simply press "Ctrl + F12". Then choose the "History" sub-item, where you can see the "Disk cache" line. To the right of it is the "Clear" button. Pressing it, you must confirm the deletion with the "OK" key.
