What is an exact rhyme? Accurate rhyme: examples

Every once in a lifetime one had to experience a moment when the soul is wounded, or, conversely, when happiness overflows, and you want to write some verse, devote it to someone, or throw out the emotional experiences on paper. But it is not enough to experience one such moment, it is necessary to live by this. To write poetry, you need to feel wider than the others, to think in your own way, not to rely on anything other than your feelings. However, if you do not observe the rhyme, then any eloquent masterpiece can at one moment become a talentless writer for people. Rhyme does not just need to feel, it needs to be known. This article will tell you about such phenomena as the exact rhyme and its types.

Rhyme

First let's see what rhyme is. This is the consonance of vowels in one or more syllables of the endings of words. Since ancient times it has become part of the poetic speech and has become practically its integral part.

The endings in the verses are not only in tune with each other, but also emphasize the rhythmic ending of each line. This is the main difference between rhyme and the usual sound repeats that do not fall under a certain rhythm in a constant sequence. It is set by the last consonant syllables in the lines - rhythmic meaning. It determines the motive, under which all lines of the verse should fall. Therefore, the "stick-herring", invented by Neznayka, is not a rhyme, since it contains only the similarity in the ending, and not in the stressed syllable. There are rhymes that are based not only on rhythmic meaning, but we will talk about what an exact rhyme is.

The basic types of rhyme

Rhymes are classified in many different types, but we will only consider the basic ones, so as not to hammer your head superfluous:

1. According to the position of the stressed syllable from the end of the line. They are divided into monosyllabic, disyllabic and so on, up to nine-syllable. The first part of the word indicates where exactly the stressed syllable is located, that is, monosyllabic - the last syllable, disyllabic - the penultimate one, and so on. This classification has many other notations, for example, monosyllabic and disyllabic are called male and female respectively.

2. By the degree of wealth. Rich is the rhyme, in which the pre-syllable syllable coincides. Such, of course, less, so because of the frequency of their use, they have become trivial and simple, and the words that form a rich rhyme, themselves revolve in the language.

3. By lexical signs. Classification follows lexical elements, for example:

  • Tautological, when the word completely coincides with the consonant.
  • Homonymous, when the word coincides with the consonant, but diverges in meaning.
  • Punous, similar to the homonymous, but diverges in meaning, sometimes words are added to the words, or words with the same parts are used.
  • Paronimic, when words are consonant with sound and writing. The most common type.

4. By belonging to a part of speech.

  • Homogeneous. This rhyme, which connects the sound of the word of one part of speech: two verbs, adjectives and so on.
  • Heterogeneous. It connects the words of different parts of speech.
  • Compound. It refers to use with unions, pronouns and interjections.

5. By language.

6. By the degree of accuracy. This point interests us the most. Let's consider it in detail.

Phonemes

To find out what an exact rhyme is, it is necessary to understand what phonemes are. A phoneme is the minimal meaningful unit of a language, that is, a sound. To form a rhyme they must coincide on the following grounds:

  • Place of education;
  • Mode of education;
  • Participation of voice and noise;
  • Hardness and softness;
  • Deafness and voicelessness.

For example, the phonemes B and P coincide in all grounds, except for the fifth. When a verse is written, it has a certain structure, similar to a matrix, where each element (phoneme) coincides with the same element, but next higher, at least for the first three characteristics. However, in an inaccurate rhyme, it is possible that only the endings of the lines coincide, the main thing is not to knock down the rhythm.

Accurate rhyme in Russian

The exact rhyme is the one that is formed when all the phonemes coincide, that is, not only the vowels of the endings of the lines, but also the consonants that precede the stressed syllable and within it.

Consonants, consonant with the ending, strengthen the coloring of the verse, making it more sonorous. The presence of precisely them determines the exact rhyme. For example, "their" and "two" on the end of the lines form an accurate rhyme, since the sounds coincide in all grounds. Coincidence of writing plays no role for rhyme, if the sound is different.

If you want to write something very sonorous, then to achieve an accurate rhyme you can use special dictionaries.

Dictionary

The dictionary of exact rhymes is a collection of all possible exact rhymes, matched to every possible word of the Russian language. It exists to simplify the process of writing poetry. If you know what an exact rhyme is, you should understand how difficult it is sometimes to observe it. Guided only by the dictionary, great success in writing poetry is not achieved, but it greatly speeds up the process of writing congratulations, songs, advertising slogans and works in other branches of art engaged in mass writing.

There are a lot of similar dictionaries, they are freely available. For example, Rhymes is the most popular and complete edition. In it, you can pick up a rhyme of any type, depending on the settings. Almost every word has its own exact word. In Russian, most words, especially adjectives and verbs, rhyme very easily, since their endings are built according to the same rules. But many people take verses with rhymes from verbs and adjectives for mediocre mass rhymes only because they are simple in writing.

Accurate rhyme in Yesenin

Rhyme is easy to follow in the works of the classics of Russian literature, it was they who set the beginning of the popularity of writing poems based on it. The most beautiful, thanks to them, is an accurate rhyme. Examples from the literature can be borrowed from Pushkin or Yesenin. Let's start with Yesenin. Here is an excerpt from the work "Do not wander, do not crumple in the bushes of scarlet ...":

The endings "above" and "yashu" in the first stanza ideally coincide not only in the stressed vowel in the syllable, but also in the consonant sound that accompanies them, they set the rhythm to the whole verse. This sound is called "accurate rhyme". In the literature it is used quite often, from which rhymes in different poems or from different poets often coincide.

Accurate rhyme in Pushkin

Due to the fact that this Russian classic has written a lot of works, rhyme in his poems is often repeated, and she can meet again not only in his creations, but also in many modern writers. This does not happen at the will of the author, but because the exact rhyme does not correspond to so many words, but to refrain from its beauty and from the temptation to build a verse exclusively on it is very difficult. So we have to use what already happened.

Accurate rhyme is obtained due to the endings of the "mustache" (in the first quatrain) and "ore" (in the second). In them, a consonant letter determines the sound, and the stressed vowels determine rhythm and rhyme. Due to the fact that all the letters in the ending coincide in sound, here is the exact rhyme. The examples clearly show that it is not easy to find a large number of words for such a rhyme. But repetitions do not spoil the sound of the verse and do not take away its beauty. Let us consider another example of Pushkin's works for fixing.

Syllables "you", "dash" and "dash" form an accurate rhyme, because they are completely identical in sound. Although the second pair differs in writing, in exact rhyme this fact plays no role. This difference is not able to change the sound in any way, so here, of course, is the exact rhyme. Examples can be found almost from any author, as well as to meet similar rhymes. This is most noticeable in the omonic and punishing rhyme. But such a type is by definition accurate, and a beautiful syllable, as a rule, does not count.

The impact of rhyme on the listener

The main purpose of rhyme is the construction of the regularity of verse speech for a more comfortable and pleasant perception. She divides the verse into parts, gives an emotional coloring and allows you to divide into semantic parts. At the same time, rhyme combines completely different parts of the verse with common intonation and sound, linking different moods of the poet, decorating it with new tones and allowing the listener to follow him. Even at an unconscious level, after hearing a rhyming line, we associate it with the previous one, which allows us to better understand the information, absorb the hue of speech and the meaning of the poem. In rhyme, the main thing is not the writing of the written, but the sound. That is quite reasonable to rhyme by ear, not letters.

Conclusion

Accurate rhyme is the most colorful kind of rhyme. It is perceived by the listener best. Due to the rare occurrence of such words that exactly rhyme, it gradually becomes familiar and no longer causes the storm of emotions that caused when you first heard it. From this article you learned what types of rhymes there are, what an exact rhyme is, why it is needed and how to achieve it when writing poetry. But do not forget that one rhyme is not enough, poetry is an experience, they consist not only of words, but also of actions, feelings, emotions thrown by the author on paper in emotional impulse.
