What does the Milky Way look like from different parts of the world?

Hundreds of stars are sparkling in the sky above Bromo Mountain - an active volcano on East Java in Indonesia.

The cosmic beauty of the Milky Way

This photo on a long exposure was filmed by the Malaysian photographer Gray Chow. He decided to capture incredibly beautiful views of the night sky in different parts of Asia.

For example, the image of an abandoned ship under the radiance of the Milky Way was filmed on the way home, to Terengganu - the state that is washed by the South China Sea.

The Milky Way is the galaxy in which our planet is located. The solar system is one of its spirals. It resembles a bubbling bath, which is filled with hundreds of billions of stars.

This photo was taken during an inspection of one of Indonesia's natural attractions - the Kava Ijen volcano complex with an extraordinary ultramarine lava color - shortly before sunrise.

Chow shared the impression of the first live view of the Milky Way seen: "Feeling as if you were in a movie with special effects. To capture such a natural and at the same time an amazing thing, like the night sky, is the greatest joy! "

And the next photo will take us high above the clouds, at the level of Mount Kinabalu, which is on the island of Borneo in Malaysia. When you see such a cosmic sky, you want to carefully consider every detail of this amazing phenomenon. But even at such an altitude you realize that on the scale of the galaxy we are all like small grains of sand. It's impressive.

Chow went a long way with the camera and all the equipment necessary for it: about 5 miles (or 8 km) to finally reach the peak of 13 435 feet or 4 095 meters above sea level.
