What does chickenpox look like?

Many of us from personal experience are familiar with the disease of "green" - chicken pox. In people it has received the name of a chicken pox. Most often it is sick in childhood, and decorated with green dots children look even funny in the eyes of their parents. Is there any reason to worry? And what does chickenpox look like?

Chickenpox belongs to the number of acute viral infections and manifests itself in the form of a wave-like appearance of rashes on the skin and mucous membranes, often with an increase in temperature. The causative agent of the disease is the herpes zoster virus, which is transmitted by contact through objects and by airborne droplets when coughing, sneezing, or talking. The virus is able to travel long distances with the help of air currents. The source of infection is a person who is currently suffering from chickenpox or shingles. An infectious person is considered 2 days before the onset of rash on the skin and the next 4 days after the appearance of the last speck.

The disease with chickenpox passes through several stages. The incubation period lasts from one and a half to three weeks. The virus spreads through the tissues of the body. Outwardly, this does not appear.

Then within one or two days the child's condition worsens and the first symptoms of chickenpox start to appear: appetite decreases, nausea and vomiting are possible, headache worries. But to determine that the first symptoms of chickenpox are thus manifested are still quite difficult. There are still no rashes on the body .

Finally, you can see how the chickenpox manifests itself. The period of rashes lasts from three to five days. The rash on the skin is accompanied by an increase in temperature. Spots on the body appear not simultaneously, but in several stages. Most often, the last rash falls on the fifth day of the disease.

How does chickenpox look first? Spots can appear on any part of the body: on the head (even in the hair zone), face, arms and legs, back, feet and palms, on the mucous of the genitals. First there is a speck that protrudes slightly above the skin.

How does chickenpox look after a few hours or a day? At the spot of each spot a bubble is formed, inside of which is a clear liquid. If the vesicle bursts, a red stain remains in its place. Bubbles cause itching, but they can not be combed, as the skin can form scars that remain for life.

How does chickenpox look during the next five to eight days? In place of the bubbles, crusts form which, after a few days, fall off themselves.

What if you found a child with chickenpox symptoms? If a small rash appears on the skin, call a pediatrician at home or visit a infectious disease doctor. Do not go to the general reception of the pediatrician, as your child can become a source of infection of other children.

If the child's well-being deteriorates noticeably, and the rash becomes more and more, you need to call an ambulance.

In most cases, the disease passes without complications. Your task - to properly organize the treatment of the baby. Once you notice the first symptoms of chickenpox, you need to isolate the patient from other family members who have not been ill with this disease. From the room where the child will be, it is necessary to remove all unnecessary things, as well as soft toys, carpets and what the virus can remain on. Often ventilate the room and daily spend wet cleaning.

From the diet of the patient it is necessary to exclude sour, salty and crackers, which can scratch the mucous membrane. Prepare your child a delicious warm porridge, boiled or steamed meat, tea or compote.

Spots of the rash on the skin must be systematically treated with greens. Once the rashes stop, stop treatment.

The rapid healing of wounds on the mucosa is facilitated by frequent rinsing of the oral cavity and washing of the perineum (up to 5 times a day) using infusions of chamomile, calendula, solutions of antiseptics.
