What does an elephant in the army mean?

Some consider the army a waste of time, they say, studying at the same university, developing their own business and other civil affairs would do much more good. Others, usually in this category are those who have already served, sincerely believe that the army makes a man out of a man in the full sense of the word. It is possible to argue about this for a long time, but it will not be possible to come to a common opinion.

At the same time, everyone agrees that the army is a peculiar state, with its own order, hierarchy, unwritten laws, sometimes not entirely understandable by the civil. So you know who the army calls "spirit", "elephant", "skull", "grandfather", "demobil"? If some of these ranks you once in your life and heard, then with others you will have to break your head. So, let's try to figure out who is who in the army hierarchy.

Hierarchy. Smells

The first stage, which is often serviced and not taken into account, is the age of being a smell. Since the moment the conscript arrived in the unit, he receives this title. On the next stage, he will pass when he takes the oath, becoming a full-fledged soldier. Smells usually do not very well represent who the skull or elephant is in the army, but they are full of army romance, the belief that it is in this place they will get real friends, and maybe at this stage they still try to reconcile themselves with that , That in the near future they will have to live in barracks, eat in the common dining room and obey orders.

Smells study the basics of drill training, the basis of the service, it is at this stage that the first outfits happen, the first conflicts with the old-timers (not yet ending with anything serious), the first pain after the march-throws. It's easier to say, the smell is someone like a pupil of the younger group of a kindergarten, who is already sort of not as a citizen, but as yet not a soldier.

Perfume

On the day of taking the oath, the former smell moves to a new level: it becomes a spirit. Despite the fact that it is this stage of the service that is considered to be the heaviest, all the fun is yet to come. Only the so-called elephants can be in command of the spirit, except for legal officers and officers, they will be told about below, and those with the serving of old-timers. The spirit is an unknown animal, which for the first time fears both grandfathers and skulls: how little it will be to react to "extrasensory" relationships, maybe it's because they complain - and then to everyone. Being a spirit determines how your colleagues will continue to perceive you: those who break down already at this stage will never be able to restore their reputation, which is why it is important to make a good impression on the old-timers. After 100 days of service a new level provides the hierarchy in the army: the spirit - the elephant - is the next stage.

Elephants

"Elephant" is probably the most difficult time for an employee. There are already certain relations with the old-timers, they understand well what a soldier is, and therefore use their unwritten powers to the fullest. The best understanding of who the elephant is in the army, the deciphering of this "rank" gives: a soldier who loves the awesome loads.

Another hundred days of service soldiers perform all sorts of assignments of the elders, is responsible to them for their own mistakes and even for some mistakes of spirits. Sometimes it is at this time that the old servants begin to extort money from the younger ones, and the latter can not complain, otherwise they will lose their face to the others. But even this soon passes: an elephant in the army becomes a skull.

Scoops (skulls)

In the modern Russian army, in two hundred days the soldier moves on, getting the "title" of the skull. Sometimes it is also called a scoop. The choice of a particular name depends on the preferences of a specific part. Only grandfathers and officers can command scoops, while the skull itself manages both elephants and, if possible, spirits. In fact, after experiencing elephantism, the service is much easier. There is less control over old-timers and obligations to them, more and more there is some kind of personal freedom, all the hardships of army life are more easily transferred, which at first seemed almost torture. But this is not the end of the army. Spirit, elephant, scoop - and then comes the grandfather, this is almost the highest step in the hierarchy.

Grandfathers

And now it's been three hundred days since taking the oath. The employee already knows perfectly well what the elephant in the army means, how to dress for the time the match burns, how to assemble and disassemble the machine, how to command those very elephants and spirits. And now he becomes a grandfather. In addition to demobilization, grandfathers are the highest caste, which can only be led by officers, and they already treat with respect those who have practically already given their debt to their homeland.

Virtually everything that is ordered to the grandfather, is delegated to the young, so this stage of the service can be called almost the most enjoyable. Grandfather already feels the approach of the citizen by all the fibers of his soul. And this feeling becomes even stronger when, one and a half months before the long-awaited return home, he passes to the last step of the hierarchy, receiving the title of demobilization.

Dembel

It seems that such a month and a half? But it is this time that is considered both the most joyful and dreary. Dembel can already afford not so accurately follow the commands of the superiors, only, by the way, the foremen, because the rest of him have not been ordered for a long time. Lead the young, too, too, no special desire - all obscures the idea of an early citizen. But at the same time, at this stage, the soldier understands what trace the army left in his life. Elephant, spirit, grandfather, scoop, dresses out of turn, march-throws, cooking in the kitchen, shaving under the cover of night, so that no one takes a bathroom - all this is about to remain in the past. From what has become so used to during this time, it will be difficult to break the law, but the demobilized workers know very well that there will be a completely different way in the civilian life, and perhaps this new one will be much better than the barracks, orders and outfits.

Army fun. Assignment of "rank"

Now that we know who the elephant is called in the army, how the spirit differs from the smell and how the demon behaves, we can go over to some army traditions associated with one or another degree in the hierarchy. Interesting, for example, are the rites of "appropriation" of this or that title.

The soldier receives so many blows with a belt on a soft place, how many months he has served. Moreover, as some employees notice, the blows are usually so strong that the star-plate on the skin is imprinted for a long time. This is so: the soldier lies on the stool with his chest, laying a pillow under him to cover the causal place, and the old servant weighs his blows. And all this young must endure without squeaks and complaints, otherwise how is it to advance this hierarchy further?

Chest for inspection!

There are also traditions that test the endurance and, admittedly, the courage of the fighters. One of them received the comic name "breast to examination". From the old servant spirits, elephants in the army sometimes hear this phrase. After it they must rise, straighten their chest and say: "Three-layer plywood, armor-piercing, this year of release (the year of birth is inserted here) is ready for battle." The grandfather strikes the victim in this very chest, and that, if, of course, after such a blow can, grandfathers do not matter, says: "The rollback is normal, the cartridges in the box." In the event that the young fails the verification, it repeats again and again.

Elk

But on this elephant in the army does not download its "fun". Even more dangerous and, perhaps, multi-variant fun was called "moose". The easiest option, the moose is ordinary - the young one puts his hands in the shape of the elk's horns (the palm of one hand is pressed against the second brush and this body is pressed against the forehead in turn). After that, the grandfather beats these very horns.

The second option, the more sophisticated - moose is musical: the design is the same, but the elephant should still sing: "Suddenly, as in a fairy tale, the door creaked," and after the blow - "Everything became clear to me now." Version three - "reed elk" - after an elk, an ordinary elephant backs away, as if passing through a reed. And the last kind is "rabid rabies" - here the grandfather does not beat, but only points to the object, about which the elephant should hit with acceleration.

45 seconds - release!

One of the main things in the army is quickness. This is what grandfathers teach spirits (elephants already know this not by hearsay) with the command "45 seconds - release!". Young lining up in the cockpit, their task after the team to run to the bed, undress ("training" is carried out in the form), put the clothes and go to bed. If at least one spirit fails the task, everything is repeated anew.

The next stage of this "game" - "3 seconds - release!". From clothes to perfume only panties and a T-shirt, and they should only run to the bed and lie down. In case of failure, the command is repeated until the grandfather gets bored. But if young people have passed this test, then the training goes into its final stage - "three control squeaks". After this command, the grandfather considers the creaks of the perfume beds until he falls asleep. If he hears three, then everyone goes up in a friendly manner and go on to perfect "45 seconds - stand-off!".

Catching butterflies

In principle, there is not really a difference between what a spirit or an elephant in the army represents in the hierarchy - both of which are sometimes subjected to abuse-training by elderly servicemen. Another fun is "catching butterflies," which develops both physical strength and endurance. The young man squats, and then jumps up as high as possible, clapping his hands over his head, as if trying to catch a butterfly with his hands. After that, he shows his hands to his grandfather, so he checked to see if the younger ill-starred insect. Most often the answer is, of course, negative, and the unhappy elephant continues its "hunt" until the elder does not get bored.

Letter

Elephants themselves sometimes participate in the "letter". In part, as is known, there are difficulties with modern ways of communicating with the outside world. Therefore, paper letters are used. The standard is physical exercise, but sometimes grandfathers are much more inventive.

When the spirit receives its first letter from a beloved girl, the eldest tear the edge of the envelope, inflate it in the manner of a cracker, and then burst on the back of the head. Sensations are unpleasant, but, as servants believe, if the cotton was loud, the girl is still waiting for her soldier. If the envelope exploded without special effects, then do not hope for favor.

Tiger Shutdown

What does an elephant in the army mean? Endless "training", checks and instructions from senior servicemen. Elephants and spirits are forced to adjust to old-timers, and if they somehow interfere with the latter, "study" begins. One of its variants is the "tiger jamming". If the elder can not fall asleep because of the snoring of the young, he gives the command "the wilderness of the tiger!", After which the unfortunate person is showered with pillows, blankets, shoes - everything that will turn up under his arm to wake him. Waking up from such an elephant dismantles all that it flew, and only then goes to bed again, of course, trying not to snore again, so as not to incur the wrath of grandfathers.

Street-racing

Far from civilization, men sometimes want to drive. Considering the fact that there are no machines in the part, perfume and elephants are engaged in "street racing". Guys get on all fours, slippers are put on their hands and feet. And they arrange races along a long corridor along the bedrooms in the barracks. Naturally, the one who came first won. But even here there is an army humor: there are pit stops along the route - places where additional slippers cost so that the "racer" can "change shoes"; The second option - "accelerators" - soldiers standing along the road and giving streitreyser acceleration kicks. Of course, it sounds strange, but what do not you go for fun?

Conclusion

Service is a school of life. After it, young people will learn what an elephant in the army means, how to do things that one does not want at all, as there is inadequate food, how to obey the strange commands of grandfathers - all this invariably tempers the character. Whether to go or not to serve is a private matter for everyone, but perhaps there are not many minuses in this service, as it seems at first glance.
