We make an album for the newborn by ourselves: the fundamentals of scrapbooking

Children grow very quickly (rather, too quickly). And parents, as a rule, want to capture as many important moments from the life of their child as possible. But where to store them? On a computer in electronic format? In the envelope received in the photo printout center? There is another, much more creative option - to make an own album for the newborn. How can this be done? What you need

• Blank for the cover (spine and 2 pages, you can make them from boxes of candy);
• Sheet of foam rubber, matching the size of the cover;
• Beautiful fabric;
• Awl and 2 bradsa with long legs;
• Glue, scissors;
• 2-sided adhesive tape;
• Scrap paper;
• Binders and clothespins;
• satin ribbon;
• Blanks for pages (from thinner cardboard).

How to make a cover and binding

1. The album for the newborn begins with its cover. Therefore, first of all, you need to make blanks for it. The cover consists of 2 pages and a spine.

2. We immediately sew the fabric to the foam sheet. You can, of course, first simply glue it with adhesive tape, but with the sewn material it is much more convenient to work. Do not forget to leave the "field" of the fabric (1.5-2 cm).

3. Lubricate the foam with glue and attach to it the blanks from the cardboard.

4. We glue the fabric to the inside, cardboard side of the cover (this is why we left fields in step 2). For greater reliability it is necessary to fix them with clothespins or binders. For everything to come out neatly, get rid of the corners of the fabric.

5. From scrap paper, we cut out suitable workpieces for the inner side of the cover. We paste adhesive tape to the cardboard, and glue - to the fabric.

6. We take the blanks for the pages (they should be slightly less than the area of the 1 page of the cover). The first two we put along the lines of the spine. Fix them with pieces of satin ribbon (2 for every 2 pages). We glue the ends of the tape with glue and attach them to the pages.

7. The next 2 pages we put a little closer to each other. Similarly, glue them to each other with the help of 2 pieces of tape. Also do with the other pairs of pages.

8. Make cover holes for brads. Then carefully insert them (the color head outwards).

9. We string on the brads sheets (or rather, the tape, which they are connected). First the widest pair and gradually to the narrowest. After that, it remains only to close the sharp legs of the Brads.

What to decorate pages and cover

The album for a newborn can have a variety of design incarnations. Here everything depends solely on your imagination. For example, for decorating an album of a boy, you can use various origami applications (boats, funny animals), drawings of a thin rope (you will get something in the style of marine themes). If you make albums for a photo of a little princess, you can use a variety of bows, flowers (including real, dried). On the pages you can draw something. On the cover, you can paste the best photo of your child and a piece of beautiful cardboard, where his name will be written. The main condition - children's photo albums should be bright, interesting and demonstrating the "I" of your baby, because this is a book about him, his life!
