While working in Word, you may encounter such a problem when, along with the copied text from some web page, its formatting is also transferred. This problem is quite common, so there are many ways to get rid of it. In the article, we will discuss five ways how to remove the background in the "Word" when copying from Internet resources. All of them are different. It should also be noted that some of the methods may not work in older versions of the program, for example, such as the 2003 Word. But about all this further in order.

Using the built-in function

It is necessary to immediately indicate that the page background in Word is not only the color of the page itself, but also various sorts of selection, such as text selection, font color and various formatting. So, consider the first way how to remove the background in the "Word" when copying from the site. It will consist in using a standard function in the program itself. But it should be noted at once that this method does not work in the program "Vord 2003". And in the article examples will be cited in the version of 2016.

Do not rush to use the hot keys CTRL + C and CTRL + V. This will copy all the formatting of the selected text. First, place the text on the clipboard into the clipboard, that is, copy it in a convenient way for you. After that, in the "Word" click the PCM in the place where you want to insert the selected text. In the appeared menu there is a line "Insertion parameters", under it there will be three images. You need to click on "Save text only". Most often it is displayed as a tablet with the letter "A" next to it. After the done manipulations, the text will be inserted without excessive formatting. The background of the page, the font color will be those that are set in the program itself, and not on the website of the web page.

Using Notepad

If for some reason the previous way you can not use it, then the next one will be shown. Just want to say that it is universal. When you use it, the background color in the "Word" will be set by the basic formatting of the program, not the site. And this method is suitable for absolutely any version of the program. The essence of the method is simple to impossible. Before you insert text into the Word, paste it into a simple "Notepad", which is in all versions of Windows. After that, copy it from the notebook and paste it into the "Word". This method works for the reason that the notebook itself does not have formatting options.

Using the eraser

On the Home tab, you might notice a tool called "Clear All Formatting." It is displayed as an eraser with a nearby letter "A". This tool is also great for removing unnecessary formatting.

It's very easy to use. First, you need to select that area in the document that you want to strip out of the format. After you do this, just click on the eraser.

Remove the font color and fill

Above, simple methods were given, how to remove the background in the "Word" when copying from the site. However, it's worth noting that after using them the formatting completely disappears, and if you wanted to leave the text and font structure, then you will not succeed. Now let's talk about how to remove the background in the "Word" when copying, but leave the font formatting. If you want to remove the font color in Word, then you need to use the corresponding tool, which is located on the panel from the top. It is called "Font Color". You can see its exact location in the picture below.

All you need to do is highlight the part of the text that you want to strip the color and click on the above tool. Then in the drop-down menu you need to choose either "Auto", or some other color at will.

Now consider how to remove the fill in the "Word" when copying. This is done in a similar way, only another tool is used. It is called "The color of the text selection". You can also see his whereabouts in the picture below. Select the part of the text, click on the tool and choose "No color" from the menu. After that, the fill will disappear, and the text will remain the same as it was.

Delete the background color of the page

Now consider the situation when, after copying text from the site, you copied the entire background of the page. You can fix this trouble in a couple of seconds. You just need to use the appropriate tool.

This time it is not located on the main tab. You should go to the "Design" tab. On the toolbar, you need to find the "Page Color". This component is located on the very right side of the tape. After clicking on the tool, a drop-down menu will open, similar to the one that was used when the "Text selection color" tool was used. In it, you need to select "No color". After that, the background of the page disappears.

By the way, I ask you to pay attention to the tools located on each side: "Substrate" and "Page boundaries". Most often, when copying from a site, they are not inserted into the document. But if you downloaded it with these elements and want to remove them, then use these tools. Work with them proceeds in a similar way.
