Warm beds help you get an early crop in an unfavorable climate

The period of vegetation is a critical moment for the life of plants, especially cultural ones. Most of them start when the ambient temperature reaches 12 degrees. Having received a signal that around it is safe enough, the plant "starts" the mechanism of growth and development, and subsequently - flowering and fruiting.

The sooner the warmth comes, the longer the vegetation period, the greater the harvest can be harvested. But how to be gardener in those regions where the warm period is not long enough for the garden plants to "fully fit in" it ? Especially accustomed to warm soil and subtropical expanse. To help them come the warm beds.

Immediately it is worth explaining to avoid mistakes: for their heating, the device of greenhouses or greenhouses is not used, heating pipes systems are not laid . A warm bed for heating the root system of plants uses the natural process of heat generation by the organic material when it decomposes.

The device of warm beds

The most perfect warm beds can be created in boxes: in addition to all the benefits, they are protected from infection with seeds of weeds. The box should be 40-50 cm deep and at least 40 cm wide, any length. It is built of old boards, pieces of slate, brick, etc. Material.

The entire filler of the box is divided into carbon-containing (paper, rags, dry foliage, dried sawdust) and nitrogen-containing (grass, tops, food waste, manure). The bottom of the box is covered with wood (branches, hemp, decaying pieces of boards and logs). The "carbon" and "nitrogen" layers, interspersed with ashes and lime, are laid out on this litter, alternating and slightly ramming. To accelerate the decomposition process, each layer can be treated with compost biopreparation. Additional warm-up can be achieved if the uppermost layer is covered with compost or covered with a black film.

Now you need to wait about a week, during which the decomposition of organic warms the warm beds to +25. After that, a layer of soil with a thickness of at least 20-30 cm, into which, in fact, plants will be planted, is filled into the box. It can be a fertile land or a mixture of land with a plot of land and compost (1: 2).

You can arrange warm beds in the spring, when the period of tillage comes. But the best time is still autumn: the lion's share of the work in the garden and in the garden is completed, the harvest is collected, there is more free time and much more organic waste to fill the box.

It is desirable to arrange the box, orienting them along the line "east-west", so that from above they are heated by the sun's rays. An excellent variant of the location - at the house or farm building on the south side. First, the warm beds will be protected from the northern winds, and secondly, the southern wall, heated by the sun in the daytime, will radiate the accumulated heat at night on the plants.

Take care of sufficient moistening of the warm patch so that the process of organic decomposition does not stop. If the summer turns out to be hot, cover the garden with light material (straw, paper, burned grass).

In warm beds, seeds or seedlings can be planted 3-4 weeks before the onset of planting. In addition to the early harvest, plants are provided with better nutrition and are more resistant to traditional diseases.
