Tsundere is ... Zundere and Yandere are the archetypes of Japanese pop culture

Those who are interested in modern Japanese pop culture, at first, have to deal with a lot of new terms, including when describing characters - tsundera, yandere, kudera, dander, genki, moe. This article will help to understand the main archetypes of the characters of anime, manga, games. The above classification is more concerned with female characters, so we will mainly talk about girls. You will be able to understand what it means to the tsundera, and how this type differs from others.

general information

Tsundere is one of the most common archetypes of characters in modern anime. Virtually no film or series can not do without a girl or boy of this type of character, and most often on one of the central roles. As a rule, the tsundera is a young girl with a boyish figure. But the basis of the archetype is not in appearance, but in character.

The very name of the tsundera is a combination of two words: "tsuntsun", which means tart, closed, indifferent, and "dererede" - tender, languishing with love. It is in combination of these opposing properties that character character is composed.

Outwardly, the tsundera seems arrogant, cold, rough, irritable. It is an independent and completely independent personality, which can behave quite harshly with others.

But here in relation to the beloved or friend manifests a different, soft side of the heroine. He tries to conceal his feelings to the tsundera, often under the guise of anger, but with the development of the love line, the "dairadere" begins to manifest more and more, realizing and accepting his own emotions.

Characters of this type are characterized by a frequent change of mood, in critical situations, literally every second. Typical representatives: Aisaka Taiga ("Toradora"), Shana ("Fire Ore Shana"), Sanzenin Nagi ("Hayate, Battle Butler").

Subtypes

Tsundere is one of the six basic archetypes of the characters, but far from all the characters fit into a strict classification. Characters, in many respects reminiscent of the czunder, but significantly departing from the canon, are attributed to subtypes, which can be up to ten. Let's consider some of them.

Tsunuho (tsundoji, tsunbaka) is a character who tries to look cold and restrained, but because of natural absent-mindedness and clumsiness, this turns out badly. Often tsunaho looks stupid and gets into ridiculous situations.

Tsuntery - a softer, shy option (here the second part of the word is formed from the "terera" - shy). Natural modesty does not allow the character to look frankly cold and arrogant, and the object of warm feelings can easily embarrass him.

Tsundora - the coldest, emotionless character, who is difficult to awaken the soft side. A good example is Senjougahara from The History of Monsters.

Tsungire - here the ending is formed from the word "kiiru", which means a short circuit. Such a character is seemingly indifferent, but he gradually accumulates emotions, which in time can lead to a real explosion.

Tsunshun is a character whose outburst of negative emotions is replaced not by softness, but by depression.

Yandere

Zundere and Yandere vary considerably, despite the similarity in the name. Characters such as yandere at first can seem pretty, modest and very peaceful.

But under the influence of strong emotions, the Yandere are shown aggression and cruelty, most often aimed at others, who can harm the family or the hero himself - to rivals in love, to ill-wishers threatening friends. But in some cases, a lover can become a victim of jandere. In an attempt to protect their interests, the Yandere can be cruel and will not stop even before the murder.

For yangir, subtype yandere, a push in the form of love is not needed, this character acts according to its hidden motives and is often mentally abnormal. Typical Yandere: Sonozaki Shion ("When the Cicadas Cry"), Katsura Cotonaha ("School Days"), Ryoko Asakura ("Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya").

Kudere

If the little sister of the tsundera is excessively sharp, then the kuder, on the contrary, is closed, silent, cold, phlegmatic, restrained. She does not show her emotions and completely controls them, often avoids communication, prefers solitude. Often the kuder spends a lot of time behind books, differs mind, logical thinking, objectivity.

Over time, kudera is revealed before her beloved and close friends. Typical representatives: Nagato Yuki ("Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya"), Ayanami Rey ("Evangelion"), Misaki May ("Other").

Dandere

Representatives of this type are also silent and closed, but not at all because they are unemotional. On the contrary, the dander is overwhelmed by feelings, but such heroes are excessively shy. They are often ashamed of their feelings, trying to hide them. Dander can avoid the company of other people, prefer to communicate the book. His innermost thoughts often trust the diary.

Dunders are often household girls. Because of shyness, they have great difficulties in communication, especially with the opposite sex. Typical representatives: Hyuga Hinata ("Naruto"), Shiomiya Shiori ("God only led the world"), Onodara Kosaka ("Fake love").

Genki

The characters of this archetype are classic sanguine. They are benevolent, active, energetic, always in a good mood, cheerful and carefree.

Cheerfulness and optimism beat them with a key. Genki are sociable and do not hesitate. They are often characterized by excellent performance in sports. Genki are usually straightforward, but sometimes they hide problems behind their fun, so as not to disturb their relatives.

Typical representatives: Suzumiya Haruhi ("Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya"), Sozonaki Mion ("When Cicadas cry"), Minori Kucieda ("The Toradora").

Moe

If the crouper is more often lively and active girls, then the moe-characters are more associated with the word "kawai" than others. They are incredibly charming, adorable and innocent, attractive in appearance, shy, naive.

They are especially attracted by some awkwardness and awkwardness. Often they are not capable of physical exertion, are timid and indecisive. Nevertheless, the purity and naivete of mohe are so attractive that everyone around them tries to take them under their protection.

Typical representatives: Asahina Mikuru ("Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya"), Takara Miyuki ("Lucky Star"), Tova Erio ("Radio signal from eccentricity").
