Toyota Hilux: the new generation is not far off

The pickup Toyota Hilux was first demonstrated to European consumers in 2005, despite the fact that in Japan it made its debut almost forty years earlier. Over the entire production time, more than twelve million copies of the model came off the assembly line. Due to its strength and reliability in the market of farm-commercial vehicles, Toyota Hilux occupies one of the leading positions in the world. In the course of creating the next generation of auto designers intended to make it both suitable for work, and for leisure. From the driver's point of view, the changes that are very important in comparison with the predecessor are related to the body structure. The frame was strengthened by almost fifty percent. Moreover, the novelty uses more economical motors and a new suspension, which the engineers developed in view of higher mileage. Thanks to all this for the new model of Toyota Hilux, tuning is not needed at all.

The new generation of cars will be realized in two body variants - with a double or five-seater cabin. Compared with the previous version, the model has grown a little longer, and therefore the wheelbase has increased. One can not but note the high quality of the assembly, which can boast of the updated "Toyota-Hilux". At the heart of the novelty of the designers put the global IMV platform, which is a classic spar frame, in front of which there are energy-absorbing zones. All body panels are made of high-strength steel, which has an anti-corrosion coating. Thanks to a successful aerodynamic form, the fuel consumption of the car has significantly decreased, as well as the wind noise during the ride.

Recall that until 2005, under the hood of the Toyota Hilux, only one variant of the engine was installed: a 102-hp diesel atmosfer. A year later the engine line was replenished with a three-liter power unit equipped with a turbine and capable of developing 171 "horses". This version was only available for those pickup trucks that had four-door cabs. The first motor functioned in combination with a mechanical box with five stages. As for the second installation, it could also be equipped with an "automatic" for four transmissions.

Designers upgraded the previously used unit with a turbine for a new generation. The engine has a volume of 2.5 liters. As for the power, it reaches a mark of 120 horsepower. It is these engines that will be installed on most new Toyota Hilux vehicles, regardless of the type of drive. The maximum speed that the car will be able to develop is 165 km / h. Thus fuel consumption of the car with the maximum version of the engine and a five-seater cabin according to passport data will make 8,3 liters for hundred kilometers in the mixed cycle. The real highlight of the car was the system, thanks to which the oil in it can be changed after thirty thousand kilometers. The maximum equipment of the car will include the upholstery of the salon with natural leather, advanced electronics, the most powerful variant of the engine and light alloy wheels. In this case, the name SR-X will be added to the name of the modification.
