The planned reconstruction of the Uprising Square (Perm)

The general plan for the development of Perm provides for an increase in the carrying capacity of city streets. In this regard, and there was a need for early implementation of the project "Reconstruction of the Square of the Rebellion" (Perm). The global plan will double the traffic volume of the hub. The need for reconstruction was prompted by local residents who, because of the difficult traffic in the area, called the Rebellion Square "bottle neck".

History of occurrence

The street of the Rebellion includes two other streets - Tomilovskaya and Market. At the top is the Vosstaniya square, the address of which is the intersection of Mostova and Slavyanova.

Tomilovskaya Street became thanks to the innkeeper, who was at this place in the nineteenth century. The name Market appeared because of the market, which was located here at the same time. At the end of the nineteenth century, mostly merchants lived on Tomilovskaya Street. It built two-story stone and brick houses.

The market lane justified its name. On weekends there was a real paradise for merchants. In the alley were meat and vegetable shops, fish. The market was seasonal. In summer there was a lot of milk and products from it. In winter, the main commodity was meat. In autumn they sold mushrooms, berries and hay.

Development process

In the early twentieth century, local authorities decided to perpetuate the name of their fellow countryman, revolutionary L'vov. But by the middle of the century, more precisely in 1953, the street was unanimously renamed the Uprising.

Even at the end of the eighteenth century, on the site of the modern street were located shopping arcades. From a long time ago this place was the center of gathering people. But still then the street did not have large scales and was called the lane between Bolshoy and Lugovoi. Despite the short length, workers' dwellings were located along it.

The traffic on Vosstania Street began in 1926. It was then that the first bus route in the city of Perm was launched. And in three years the rails were built and the trams were launched.

The occurrence of difficulties

As was initially clear, the reconstruction of the Uprising Square (Perm) will lead to a temporary obstruction of traffic and the formation of new traffic jams. For this reason, the city authorities ask the residents of Ordzhonikidzevsky and Motovilikhinsky districts to take their understanding to the works performed. Drivers will be forced to stand in traffic jams much longer than usual, but this is only for the duration of the project. Reconstruction of the Uprising Square (Perm) will lead to a particularly tense situation during peak hours, that is, from seven to nine in the morning and from five to eight in the evening.

Problems can occur on the following objects:

  1. Solikamskaya Street. Movement on it is going to be closed, beginning with Mostovoy and until 1905. On this site, it is planned to expand the road to three lanes, the construction of a stop. On either side of the roadway there will be sidewalks. When a new three-lane traffic is launched in this place, the road from Solikamskaya to the ring in the Uprising Square will be blocked. There should also be three lanes on this section.
  2. Garden of Eden. According to the chief of propaganda of road safety, the restriction of traffic along this object will not lead to serious problems. This segment of the road is used by those who need to get to the Zaprud microdistrict. Some difficulties are possible only with the beginning of the summer season.
  3. The street of 1905. Reconstruction of the Vosstaniya Square (Perm) will affect the organization of a one - way traffic on the street in 1905. This will allow drivers to get to Ordzhonikidzevsky district and such microdistricts as Vyshka I, Vyshka II and Zaprud.
  4. Solikamskaya street along the Garden of Eden. This part of the road will also be one-way. The street leads to a crossroads with Mostovoj where the traffic light will be established. This will replace the closed entrance from the roundabout of the square to Solikamskaya.
  5. Street Mostovaya. A one-way street will allow you to get from Ordzhonikidzevsky district to the city center of Perm. More precisely, this is the site from the intersection with Solikamskaya Street and to the square itself. The implementation of the reconstruction plan will help replace the turn to the Garden of Eden towards the monastery.

Policy violations

Many drivers are outraged by the lack of traffic control and entry to the Uprising Square. Photos, which flooded the direction of traffic in Perm, in every way confirm the facts of numerous violations. Bus drivers at the intersection of Mostova Street and 1905 often rebuilt unsuccessfully from the extreme right-hand row. During the disembarkation of passengers, public transport completely blocks the lane.

The reconstruction plan provides for the resolution of this situation. The project assigns the drivers of public transport the right to turn from the street in 1905 due to two lanes to the left or one lane to the right.

Of course, to completely eliminate the problem, it would be good to open the third band, but the scale of reconstruction does not allow this to happen. The management structures decided that the violation of the rules is more a problem of the behavior culture of drivers, which will immediately be solved with the strengthening of traffic control in this place.

Stop Transfer

Residents who use public modes of transport complain of a new stop, demanding to transfer it to the usual old place. But this is impossible, since the site from the Uprising Square to the intersection (between Mostovaya and Solikamskaya streets) will be one-sided. Many offer to organize a stop on the area between the square and Solikamskaya. But the city planners suggested another solution. According to experts, the best option will be the construction of a stop in the quarter, which is located between Proletarskaya and Vosstaniya. This location is most successful from the convenience of pedestrians.

Problem place

The greatest number of complaints comes to the directorate from local residents about the intersection between Mostova and Solikamskaya. Reconstruction of the area of the Uprising (Perm) led to a heterogeneity of the movement. The main problem is traffic light regulation. The specialists made the longest possible phase for the transportation of traffic along Mostovaya Street. But then the fact that too little green light burns, pedestrians make claims. There are many cars, but the distance between them is huge because of the repair work. For this reason, for a single phase of an infinite number of cars passing the minimum number of vehicles. But the authorities claim that after the reconstruction, this problem will disappear by itself.

Overhead passage

The reason for many disagreements was the Uprising Square (Perm). Photos of the reconstruction process demonstrate the erection of an overground crossing across Mostovaya Street. Drivers doubt its necessity and usefulness. But the construction of this infrastructure facility (Perm, Ploshchad Vosstaniya) is already making traffic much more difficult. But according to the developers of the project, the transition is a continuation of the staircase from the Vyshka I microdistrict. Another obstacle was the tenants of the emergency houses in the construction site, who do not want to leave.

Bridge construction

Great plans have local authorities on the area of the Uprising. Repair is not the end of the construction work. Specialists are already engaged in the development of the third bridge across the Kama River. And the most successful place is the square. In the near future, it is planned to make predictive calculations, an assessment from the point of view of transport modeling. The effectiveness of this project is considered from the side of reducing travel time, transport security and sustainability of work.

Offers of residents

The developers of the project believe that the reconstruction of the Uprising Square (Stage 1) is an example of the well-coordinated work of specialists and local residents. Establishing communication with drivers, you can understand the errors in the organization of traffic and assess the effectiveness of the actions performed. But a lot of calls to the directorate are not constructive and therefore are not considered. Reconstruction of the area of the Rebellion (Stage 1) caused a lot of controversy about the location of the stop, traffic lights and the direction of traffic flows. But basically proposals from Perm are aimed at realizing a two-way traffic.

Good thoughts, however, also met. For example, these are signs indicating direction. According to the numerous requirements of motorists, their placement was organized as quickly as possible. Many new traffic lights were introduced into the great delusion of people, which had not yet been launched. To avoid incidents, they were covered with covers.
