The layout of the sauna in Russian traditions
The construction of a bathhouse on its own plot is planned by almost every owner, and most of our fellow citizens choose not a Finnish sauna, not a Turkish hamam, but a native Russian steam room. No doubt, each of them is good in its own way, but Russians are accustomed to a hot wet steam room with a fragrant broom and kvas.
The layout of the Russian bath is very simple: at a minimum, it is a washing room, a dressing room and, of course, a steam room. The dressing room serves as a dressing room and a place for rest after washing procedures. Our contemporaries are accustomed to surround themselves with various amenities, it touched the baths. Planning it often provides for the installation of an additional rest room, equipped with all conceivable elements of convenience.
It is especially pleasant to relax after steam pleasures, talk over a cup of fragrant infusion of medicinal herbs, relax and experience real bliss. But let's go further. As a rule, the temperature in the washing compartment is not too high, the steam is light. This room is intended for washing, massage, cosmetic procedures. Here, benches and a bench are set (in former times shelves were called).
The layout of a bath in Russian traditions is inconceivable without a steam room - it's her heart. "Bathhouse without steam - that soup without a cook". Good couples and a cruel broom - an eternal attribute of the steam room. The quality of hot air depends on how long the walls of the baths are able to retain heat. They must be heat-intensive, so that the room warms evenly, and also has the ability to naturally regulate humidity. Not for nothing ever since the Russian steam rooms were built of wood, this material embodies all the requirements of bath art.
