The film "Bastards": actors and roles, description, reviews and reviews

In 2006, the screen featured a feature film about disadvantaged adolescents, who during the Great Patriotic War were used in the organization of sabotage operations. A huge resonance was the film "Bastards". Actors who perform the main roles, despite the young age, have gained wide popularity. But the reliability of the historical events that formed the basis of the plot aroused doubts and disputes.

The story "Bastards"

The work of Vladimir Kunin is devoted to the fate of street children. In the war years, being without adult supervision, they were left to the mercy of fate. The plot of the story remotely resembles the cult novel "Children of sand" by the famous Brazilian writer Jorge Amado, which in 1971 was shot the film of the same name. The essential difference between these two films is that the veracity of the Brazilian work is not easy to question, whereas the version about the existence of a sabotage school, whose children have become street children, has been criticized and subsequently, as a result of a small historical study, was refuted.

A unique story told by an ambiguous author interested the director Alexander Atanesyan, who decided in early 2005 to begin shooting the film "Bastards". The actors were involved both famous and unfamiliar to the viewer.

Scenario

Perhaps the rumors that in the plot of the story, and, consequently, the film, lie facts from the biography of Vladimir Kunin, were a spectacular marketing move. After all, reality and truthfulness always attract movie fans. However, the film, shot in the script on a historical subject, was bound to undergo an evaluation by an expert historical commission, which did not happen before the sensational film was released.

At the request of Atanesian, Vladimir Kunin wrote the script "Bastards". Actors - both beginners and experienced - had to fulfill difficult roles. Before them was the task of creating on the screen the images of people who found themselves in a difficult situation, when one must go to a feat not for the sake of glory and honor, but only in order to survive. After all, the characters of the film are juvenile hijackers and thieves. They are superfluous people, nobody will remember their possible death. And they are successful candidates for the role of suicide bombers.

For some time the author of the story and script claimed that it was a prototype of one of the characters in the movie "Bastards". Actors of the basic staff were selected from the age group that Kunin himself was during the war, when he was left without parental care by coincidence. However, the archival documents that were raised after the scandal surrounding the film, showed that the entire autobiographical nature of the story is only in this coincidence.

Main roles

Despite the grandiose scandal, which, incidentally, often precedes the popularity, huge box office had a film "Bastards". Actors, whose biography in the movie began precisely with the release of this film, woke up famous the day after the premiere.

Alexander Golovin, who was previously known to the audience (especially on the popular TV series "Cadets"), in the world of cinema was already at the age of nine. But in the film of Atanesian he performed his first serious role. The image of a juvenile recidivist had so little to do with a charming cadet from a prosperous family that, perhaps, it was this contrast that served as a push in the future acting career of Golovin. The film involved not only young actors, but also children, who a year before the filming began and could not imagine that they would be once on set.

The actor-homeless

Interesting facts are present in the history of the creation of the film "Bastards". Sometimes the actors are so far away in real life from the characters that viewers see on the screen, that any identification can cause surprise and a smile. But in the composition of the film crew of the film, Alexander Atanesyan, there was also a person whose biography, though very distant, still reminds the life of a fictional character.

The names of famous stars are found in the credits for the film "Bastards". The main actors, however, in this film are not only professionals, but also those who got on the screen by accident.

Sergei Rychenkov, who plays the role of Tyapy, knows about the life of a teenager deprived of parental attention, or not at first hand. The boy grew up in one of the Moscow suburban schools, where a film crew visited one day. A casting was conducted to select the main performers, where Sergei appeared with a black eye. Such appearance from the first seconds attracted the attention of the representatives of Atanesian's group.

Fatal film

The author of the script has repeatedly said that the film is based on real events. At a time when only in the project was the film "Bastards", actors and roles were not yet known to the audience, the picture already interested critics and fans of Russian cinema. First of all, thanks to the colorful stories of Kunin about his homeless childhood. The writer told of how he was once thrown into the enemy's rear, where he should have taken part in secret operations. Later, Kunin admitted that this story is nothing more than an artistic fiction.

Whether the director believed the script is unknown, but for many actors such recognition became a surprise. There is also a version that an evil rock follows participants of the film "Bastards". Actors and the roles they performed, have some kind of fatal connection. Thus, the role of the storekeeper Uncle Pasha became one of the last for Andrei Krasko. Three years after the release of the film, a young actor Vasily Lykshin died of a heart attack . A sudden death also overtook Andrei Panin.

Criticism

According to the story of Vladimir Kunin, it was hardly possible to shoot the series. Actors of the series "Bastards" and the roles that they would play could not stand criticism. And it is unlikely that he would have been able to attract the attention of viewers, because the success of the film was caused by a unique and improbable storyline and a bright cast. Even before the release of the picture, a dispute arose. The discussion was opened by veterans and historians. According to them, death camps for juvenile offenders were not and could not be.

Award

The filmmakers had only one argument for this statement: Vladimir Kunin himself was one of these teenagers and miraculously survived. The dispute has acquired serious proportions, and the credibility of the events, which the author of the "Bastards" said, interested in the FSB. As a result, archival documents were raised and it turned out that the school for underage saboteurs did exist in the forties, but the organizers were not Soviet, but German officers.

There is speculation that Kunin abandoned his statements precisely because he did not want to disclose the true facts of his biography. One way or another, the writer was hit by a flurry of critical statements, based on the charge of denigrating the heroic years in the history of the Soviet Union. The culmination of a grand scandal was the refusal of Vladimir Menshov to award a film award. According to the Oscar-winning director, the film shames Russia and has nothing to do with the true events of the Great Patriotic War.

Yet, despite the scandalous glory, the film "Bastards" was awarded the MTV award. And even with a huge number of critical remarks worthy of attention - at least because of the extremely strong cast and excellent director's work.
