The destiny is both destiny, and territory

The meaning of the word "destiny" is twofold. The first semantic load declares destiny as a fiefdom, a territory subject to the master. The second - as fate, share, fate.

"Specific period" as part of the history of Russia

The first interpretation of the word, which explains it as the possession of land, had such circulation in Russia that the time interval from the middle of the 12th to the middle of the 15th century was called the "specific period". This was the time of the fragmentation of a single state into small principalities - an indispensable stage in the development of feudalism in any country. Sometimes the destiny was reduced to the size of a small estate. It happened because the Russian princes, having, as a rule, a large number of children, endowed each of them with lands, or, most, those who did not offend before their father when writing a spiritual letter (testament).

From father to son

Thus, the lot is a part of the father's land, given to one of the heirs. In ancient Russian sources, it is sometimes called a dossier, but, according to some experts, this does not sound very elegant. Of course, during his reign, the prince could add to his significant conquered lands, thus increasing the part of the inheritance to each of the sons, but it was still a process of fragmentation of the state. The master, the prince, the boyar, the seigneur, having received their destiny (this, as a rule, in those days were wild lands with a small fortified city), were compelled to have their own army, their squad. It could not have been so great as to alone withstand a large army. Fragmentation and internecine wars were the main reason for the conquest of Russia by the Golden Horde.

The concept of destiny as an inheritance existed until 1917

However, in all this there were also positive moments - the princes strengthened their fiefdoms, rebuilt their capitals, erected temples. That is, "destiny" in Ancient Rus - this is the territory that is completely dependent on the talents of the prince. He will be like Yaroslav the Wise, the land will grow and land, and new cities, and numerous temples. It is interesting that in tsarist Russia up to 1917 there was a concept of destiny, and it denoted land property or real estate owned by one of the members of the royal family. After the abolition of serfdom, even before 1863, peasants were included in this concept except real estate and land.

The term itself was very often used in literature, it is found in Pushkin's poem about Boris Godunov: "... we have long lost our lot ...", and in the tale of Gvidon, when he, as a mosquito, flew to himself across the sea , Avenging his aunts. But Boyan Island was not given to him by the priest. Hence, the lot is a land plot,
Real estate in the possession of a prince.

Stephen King has the novel "Salimov destiny", where this word takes on meaning and destiny (as the name of one Russian translation of the book - "The lot") says, and as a land plot, the location of the city where the events take place.

The second meaning of the term

The second interpretation of the term "destiny" (this lot) has, like no other word, dozens of synonyms in which there are even phrases - the finger of fate, it is written on the family, the Wheel of Fortune fell out. There are synonyms, implying a sad fate - nedolya, fate, a cross, howl. This includes Parks and Moira - these ladies are known for persecuting their victims for the purpose of punishment until it is completely destroyed.

There are interchangeable words to this term, which cast sadness, despondency and the absence of any pleasant prospect - fate, fate and fate. There are synonyms that predetermine a happy destiny - a future, a field, a plan. Good words - perspective, cup, holding, share and even happiness. About destiny as destiny there are a great many magnificent verses, such as, for example, "... the lot of love is beautiful and bright ...".

The term in question is also found in geographical names. So, the territory in the north of Palestine is called Nafalimova's tribe.
