The answer to the question is one of the ways of psychological influence. It is used in everyday life, in business, in negotiations, in order to discover the true face of a person and learn his intentions.

Intuitive withdrawal from the answer

Some people do not know that they are using a counter-question. Perhaps they do not know how to answer correctly, or try to joke. There are times when the question is asked incorrectly or incomprehensibly, then the clarification question is used. Someone does not focus on the topic of the question and wants to clarify the information. But the answer to the question is always an annoying factor.

Deliberate departure from the response

For psychologists, politicians and educated people, the answer to a question is a kind of thoughtful move and a polemical trick. Tactless, impolite attempts to find out information with questions on the forehead were skilfully suppressed by such people at the very beginning of the conversation.

You need to have a quick mental reaction so that you do not say too much.

At the first meeting or during an acquaintance, some people ask unwanted questions about age, marital status, wages, work and personal moments. Friends or acquaintances (with whom you have a conflict) can ask questions about appearance, weight, family problems. It is desirable to quickly find a witty answer or ask a counter question, so that the situation does not put you in a dead end.

The answer to the question is protection from provocation, aggression and a quick way to change an unpleasant topic or end a conversation. Competently and politely parrying a colleague or friend, you will show your importance and steadfastness.

Even if the topic under discussion is extremely unpleasant for you, do not react too decisively, answer seriously or spitefully. Such a reaction will only show your opponent that his remarks have wounded you and offended you.

To easily get out of an awkward situation, you need to prepare in advance a series of answers to tricky questions. Even the most unceremonious question should be answered with courtesy and dignity.

But if your interlocutor shows impudence, you can always stop communication with the help of phrases:

- it does not concern you;

- I do not want to talk about this with you;

- Please leave me alone.

In addition, you should always be on guard with people who are overly curious and ask many questions.

Psychologists are advised to practice in ordinary life situations to change the subject of conversation, to influence the interlocutor and to leave the answers. You can try on your relatives and friends to apply the method at work or when solving conflicts.
