Tank Soviet Army
After the end of World War II, US President Harry Truman considered that the Soviet army could continue its offensive and conquer all of Europe. Measures were taken to build up the military potential, besides, successfully conducted tests of the atomic bomb led to the beginning of a new war - the Cold War. The Soviet army during the Cold War was the best in the whole world. Its commanders and soldiers had a huge combat experience behind their shoulders, an excellent school was trained to train specialists in all branches of the armed forces.
The development of a strategic bomber takes decades, and the tank is created within two to three years. In the post-war period, the country had accumulated extensive experience in the production of tanks on a continuous basis, the Soviet industry could stamp them with hundreds. An adequate response to the American bomb rainfall was to become a tank armada. The Soviet army began to be equipped with new T-55 tanks, they were able to fight even on the contaminated terrain. Installed on the tank system of ventilation created inside the machine an excessive pressure, which tightly blocked penetration into the radioactive dust.
In the concept of the development of tanks of the USSR and the United States there was a huge difference. If Americans and European countries focused on increasing the thickness of armor and improving the conditions for the work of the crew, the Soviet army received the simplest machines, the production of which can easily be put on stream. For example, the top of the American tank building M1A2 Abrams is so complicated in repair and maintenance that the slightest breakdown leads to the sending of the tank to the deep rear, and on the Russian tank it is possible to repair almost any level of complexity in the field.
