In the whole world there are several museums equipped on submarines. In our country, submarines are open to visits in Vytegra, St. Petersburg and Moscow.

Submarine Museum in Moscow

After twenty years of impeccable fighting service in 1998, the legendary diesel submarine named "Novosibirsk Komsomolets" was decommissioned from the Russian navy and turned into a museum. After 8 years, it was re-equipped and installed on the bank of the Khim reservoir in the capital of our homeland. Now there is the Museum of the submarine (in Moscow), which is part of the museum and memorial complex of the history of the Russian navy.

Inside the boat, the interior was slightly modernized: the upper deck instead of the hatches through which the submariners sat, equipped with doors for the convenience of museum visitors. The spaces of the boat for inspection were also expanded. In fact, the submarine was very crowded, the military moved through hatches, which had to be re-tapped after moving from compartment to compartment. Each hatch has a table in which the symbols of the conditioned tapping signals are indicated, they are needed for communication between submariners.

Torpedo compartment

The museum of a submarine in Moscow invites you to an excursion, the maximum number of tourists is 15 people. For these purposes, the compartments are open: battery, diesel, torpedo, residential, stern and officer cabins. The museum-boat "Novosibirsk Komsomolets" offers a peek into the torpedo compartment, where there are real torpedoes with mines and diving suits.

Also open for visiting the captain's cabin, equipped with a variety of navigational aids, where everyone can feel themselves as the captain of a guided vessel, sonar, air supply system, radio room, medical isolator, shower room, sea head. The showroom offers a look at the personal belongings of the crew.

Submarines do not have portholes, and movement depends on navigation, which is an important element of control and the life of the ship depends on it.

The museum of the submarine at the "Shodnenskaya" metro station conducts interesting excursions in order to get acquainted with the combat capabilities of the submarine, its history, and also during the excursion it is possible to find out how the service of ordinary submariners and command personnel passed and what their living conditions were.

The Ekranoplan

Near the submarine there are samples of naval equipment that the Submarine Museum in Moscow installed under the open sky at the Khimki reservoir. Curious visitors can get information about a periscope, a pull-out antenna, an emergency buoy, a torpedo, an assault boat on an air cushion, an ekranoplane, which is intended for landing delivery.

Excursion to the museum "Submarine" for a fee makes it possible to find yourself on an attraction simulator, which simulates the cockpit of an ekranoplan, in it, virtually pilots, you need to perform certain tasks within the framework of your mission.

The submarine is open to tourists from 10 am to 5 pm five days a week, Monday and Tuesday are weekends.

Petersburg. "Submarine"

The museum was opened in March 2010. He immediately became very popular, especially among boys. The submarine museum is located opposite the Marine Corps of Peter the Great in St. Petersburg on the Lieutenant Schmidt waterfront. Submarine series C-189 was produced at the Baltic plant in 1955. The boat is equipped with six vehicles for torpedoes and is able to descend to a depth of 200 meters. This type of vessel easily withstood numerous fighting battles. The USA and Germany highly appreciated the quality of such boats. For the years of its combat service the boat has sailed the blue of the Atlantic, the Arctic Ocean, the Baltic Sea and the Neva River.

Restoration work

After 35 years of service, it fell into disrepair and in 1998 sank in Kronstadt. In 2000, veterans-submariners attempted to address the initiative to raise it from the bottom and make a museum out of the submarine, but it did not succeed because of lack of money. It took only five years to accomplish the lifting operation. At the Kanonersky Shipyard it was repaired, and with the help of military specialists, new equipment was delivered. Today, the boat restored its original appearance.

Five years later, with the charitable help of the veteran submariner A. Artyushin, the submarine was turned into a museum and installed on the embankment of Lieutenant Schmidt. In the Club of seamen-submariners of the city there is information that the boat was rebuilt for its means. Submarine received a second birth, only now as a museum.

The "crew" of the submarine today consists of veteran submariners. They follow the museum, maintaining proper order, and conduct excursions.
