Soap bubbles - an exciting activity for any age

We all remember fun from childhood - soap bubbles. No doubt, this kind of entertainment suits any child. Watching how a multi-colored beautiful ball appears from the soapy mixture is a very fascinating activity. True, soap bubbles make their beauty very short. After all, they exist only a few seconds, bursting from a touch or spontaneously.

The composition of soap bubbles is water and soap. In addition to the soap solution, for their manufacture, a blowing tool is also needed. Let's look at this in more detail.

What should be a solution for soap bubbles

To prepare the mixture, we need soft water. Because the hard water contains many salts, which makes the bubbles too fragile. To soften the water, you can simply boil it and let it settle. By the way, it is best to use warm water, since soap dissolves faster in it.

Soap is best used in domestic production. The most suitable for these purposes is the economic one. You can also use glycerin or any liquid detergent. So that the soap dissolves more quickly in the water, grind it with a knife.

The proportions of the solution are individual and depend on many factors - atmospheric pressure, temperature, humidity. On average, soap and water are taken in a combination of 1:10 to prepare the mixture, respectively. To prolong the existence of the bubble, glycerin or an aqueous solution of sugar with glycerin is added to the solution. Due to this trick, the soap film on the bladder does not dry up so quickly, and the bubble "lives" much longer.

Soap bubble tools

The best tool is a straw. It can be a hollow stem of any herb, a rod of a ballpoint pen or a usual plastic straw for a cocktail. A wire ring can also be used for these purposes. To do this, take a piece of wire and at one of its ends, fold the loop. You can blow bubbles out by dipping the ring into the solution. Even if there are no tools nearby, your arm will work. You just need to put your thumb and index finger in a circle, douse them in a soapy solution and blow bubbles in this way.

How to check the quality of a solution

If you get bubbles 10 cm in diameter and do not burst for 30 seconds, this is a sure sign that you have prepared a great solution. Another test for quality. Dip your finger into your soapy solution and try to pierce the bubble. If it does not burst, then the mixture is cooked correctly.
To make the bubbles bright and colorful, it's best to blow them into the sunny windless weather. In the sun they will beautifully shimmer in different colors. Also try blowing bubbles in the cold. It turns out that this is also possible! Only the weather should be windless. If the wind outside, it can be done on the balcony. The bubble begins to freeze at 7 degrees below zero. It's quite a fascinating sight! Falling to the floor, it breaks, like a glass ball, scattering into many fragments.
