Siberian breed of cats

Siberian cat - a representative of the breed of long-haired cats. The exact birthplace of the breed is unknown: some believe that the origin of the Siberian breed is Russian, others are Asian. According to the researchers, the ancestors of such a cat were different breeds of wild cats, inhabitants of the Trans-Urals. It is interesting that the Siberian breed is the result of natural development and formation. That is why it is impossible to clearly trace its origin. As such, work on the rock began only two decades ago after the approval of its standards. Note that Siberian cat very quickly became popular not only on the territory of Russia, but also beyond its borders.

Appearance

Siberian cat is an animal with a powerful body, the mass of which reaches 6 kg. The larger representatives of the breed weigh, respectively, more. The large body is complemented by muscular and broad paws. Between the toes on the paws you can see pieces of wool - a distinctive feature of steppe and forest cats.

The Siberian breed of cats, like the Persian one, is distinguished by the presence of a collar made of wool. On the hind legs can also be found woolen "panties". Such features are not found in all Siberian cats and are not their distinguishing features. On the contrary, "collar" and "panties" are considered a deviation from the norm, but not pathology.

Pretty tough hair of a Siberian does not cause allergies, so often these cats are acquired by people with children or allergies. Undercoat is very dense. Thanks to such a cover, the breed's representatives feel good in any weather. By the way, the wool does not get wet, which protects the cat from the rain. At the same time, it does not require special care, so even with its complete absence it does not lose its properties.

The Siberian breed of cats differs in natural color, which allows the animal to disguise itself during hunting. Nevertheless, breeders have developed a huge number of ways to get a Siberian cat with a variety of colors.

The head of the Siberians is large, round in shape. It looks harmoniously against the backdrop of the cat's large body. The forehead differs in convexity, the cheekbones are of a low arrangement, and the cheeks are full. All this makes the general appearance of the Siberian cat expressive. Another feature of the appearance of a pet is tufts on the ears.

Siberian breed of cats and the nature of its representatives

Since the ancestors of the Siberian cat are considered wild cats, they are good hunters. Of course, at home it does not manifest as much as in a natural environment, but numerous observations of them show that they are predators rather than homebodies.

The Siberian breed of cats gives its representatives a special character. Such cats do not become attached to the host, they do not eat well. As a rule, they are full at a time and can not eat more than a day. Despite the fact that these cats are not very tame, they recognize only one owner. They perfectly understand who is the master of the house, and who is the guest. Siberian kittens are pretty playful, but it goes away with time. In adults, there is a tendency to independence and awareness of their feline "I". Sometimes it seems that these cats behave according to the principle "As with me - so am I."

In general, Siberian cats (photos show this) look very proud and confident. Proper care for the breed's representatives and good attitude will not go unnoticed by the pet, and he will surely thank you for calm behavior and obedience.
