The Role of James Kirk

The series "Star Trek" made the Canadian actor famous throughout the world. Together with Leonard Nemoy, they played the role of protagonists for many years. Whom did Shatner personify?

Kirk was born in Riverside (Iowa). According to the plot of the new full-length film, he was born in a rescue capsule. The same confusion with the date of birth. There is no contradiction only with the year of the appearance of Kirk in the world - 2233 year.

For a time he lived on Tarsus Four, studied at the Academy of Starfleet, passed an internship on the spaceship "Republic", was an instructor at the Academy. By 2254 he received the rank of lieutenant and appointment to the spaceship Farragut.

It is not for certain established what happened in Kirk's life from 2254 to 2263. Presumably he became a lieutenant commander. At the same time, he began his service on the spaceship Enterprise. On it, he served for about ten years under the command of Christopher Pike. When Pike was promoted, James Tiberius Kirk became captain of the spaceship.

As commander of the Enterprise, he accomplished a historic five-year mission to explore the cosmos. A few years after the end of the expedition, James was promoted to Rear Admiral. He took up the post in the operation of the Starfleet.

In 2271, he again took command of the Enterprise, but temporarily. Then until 2284 his fate is unknown until he again returned to the service. In 2285, he was accused of stealing a spaceship, which he took to save Spock. Kirk was demoted to the captain.

In 2293, the hero was sentenced to imprisonment in a colony-mine for the killing of the Klingon chancellor. But his friend Spock proved Kirk's innocence, which was soon released. At the same time, he participated in the testing of the new spaceship Enterprise, and after that disappeared without a trace. As it turned out, he fell into a temporary anomaly.

After the TV series ended, the actor who played Kirk, in collaboration with other writers, created several works in which he returned his hero to life.

In memory of Spock

James Tiberius Kirk and Klingon Spock were best friends. According to the plot, they were ready to sacrifice themselves for the sake of saving the comrade. The actors who played these characters also communicated behind the set.

Shatner, in memory of his deceased colleague, created his portrait using the selfie fans. They portrayed the welcome gesture of the Vulcans in the form of a hand in which the index and middle finger are separate from the ring finger and little finger. This gesture means "Live long and prosper". On the received portrait actor Leonard Nemoj also is represented with this gesture.

In the collage was involved six thousand shots, which the fans of the series sent to the actor until August 1. The original portrait was sent by a Canadian artist to the Guinness Book of Records Administration.

"This is strange!"

Of the latest works of the actor is worth noting the 2010 series "That's strange!" With William Shatner. Ryan Marley was the director. The length of each issue of the documentary series is 43 minutes.

In each series, the actor explains the inexplicable facts and events that occur with ordinary people. All non-standard incidents are considered by science and mysticism. Witnesses are interviewed to learn all the nuances. The goal of each issue is to understand whether science can achieve the truth in current events or whether it only remains to say: "This is strange!"
