Recipe for pork shank in the sleeve

There is nothing tastier than an impressive, roasted, fragrant piece of meat. This will be confirmed by any man. Yes, and women, even the most "slimming", will not give up such yummy. Meat can be cooked in different ways, but one thing I will say for sure - it's always delicious. In my opinion, a piece of meat can not be spoiled. So boldly get down to business.

Today I want to share a recipe with you, as a pork knuckle baked in the oven is being prepared.

There is not one recipe for pork shank, they differ only in the way of marinating the shank. Some of her marinate in beer or kvass, others simply in mayonnaise and mustard. In general, it depends on your taste and desire. But everyone agrees on the idea that the pork knuckle in his sleeve is divinely delicious, although not very useful.

The recipe for pork shank is simple enough, the only thing that takes time is the time of marinating it. But in order not to worry about this, you need to marinate meat the day before and leave it for the night, then you will not go around the meat around the lap and time.

Well, now directly the recipe for pork shank.

We will need the following ingredients:

- 1,5 kg pork shank (it is better if it is fresh, not frozen)

- the head of garlic

- mustard

- mayonnaise

- Spices (black pepper, turmeric, rosemary, etc.)

- salt a lot

- several large potatoes

So, first we take the wheel, we wash it well, brush (scrape) the skin, and then dry it with water and begin to fill with garlic.

To do this, on all surfaces of the shank we make small incisions, garlic is pressed into the garlic crock and this garlic is filled with each incision.

The next stage rub rublet with salt and pepper, well from all sides, sprinkle with other spices abundantly.

Then in a separate bowl, mix the mayonnaise and mustard, and evenly cover the whole surface of the shank with this mixture.

When our shank is ready, we put it in the refrigerator for at least eight hours, in order to ensure that the meat is well-cooked. It is better to marinate it in the evening, and the next day it will be well soaked and ready quickly.

You can marinate, as I said in beer or kvass, but then you need to stand for at least 12 hours so that the shank is soaked with aroma and hops. In this case already mayonnaise and mustard is not used, as well as meat rubbed with spices and salt and poured with beer to cover completely. Then the shank will have a specific taste. Children are not recommended.

When we already have a pickled pork knuckle, warm up the oven well by 200 degrees. Next, we clean potatoes and cut it in half, put it in a sleeve. On top of the potatoes, put the pork handle and tie the sleeve.

All this is laid on a baking tray in the oven and baked for about an hour. Then open the oven and open the sleeve on the top (cut the film from the top of the sleeve), so that the upper part of the shank opens, then a golden brown crust turns on top. We leave in the oven for another twenty minutes. You can still pull out the handle and turn it to the other side, then it will be covered with a golden crust on all sides.

That's all, the actual pork shank recipe is simple enough and requires a minimum of your efforts, but I guarantee that your family will be delighted with this dish. A tender, fragrant, juicy pork knuckle, which can be served both with garnish, and separately as a snack.

This dish will perfectly suit both to the festive table, when you wait for a large number of guests, and you do not have time to seriously eat, and for a family dinner.

By the way, if many guests are expected, then it is possible to bake several slices and more potatoes in one sleeve at once.
