Pubic louse - how to get rid of it?

Pubic louse is a parasite, measuring from 1 to 3 millimeters. He usually lives at the base of the hair in the pubic region and genitals. In rare cases, can live on hair under the arms, in a beard or mustache. Such organisms are inactive and most of their time is spent on feeding human blood. They multiply, laying eggs, which later turn into nits.

The pubic louse outside the host organism can survive no more than two days. The average life span of a parasite on the human body is approximately 24 days.

Pubic louse: ways of infection .

This parasite lives exclusively on the human body, therefore it is impossible to get infected by carpenters (as they are called by physicians) from some animal. Transmission of the pathogen in most cases occurs during sexual intercourse.

But cases of transfer of an organism through household objects, for example, clothes, a bed or a towel are fixed also. Adult individuals do not live long, in contrast to their eggs - outside the human body, they can exist for a week or more. Therefore, very often the infection occurs when visiting public saunas, baths, toilets, tanning salons, etc.

Pubic louse: symptoms .

After the louse has got on the person, it is attached at the base of the hair. The parasite feeds exclusively on the blood of people. With the help of claws, the carpenter pierces the skin, thus firmly fixing his body. Then the parasite inserts its proboscis into the body, through which the blood is sucked off.

The louse produces a specific enzyme that injects into the body with a bite - this interferes with the normal processes of blood clotting, but it allows the body to eat almost constantly. Reproduction of parasites is carried out here - on the skin in the pubic region. The female lays somewhere three eggs a day and firmly attaches them to the hair so that even during washing they can not be removed. New individuals appear after a few days.

The main sign of the presence of these parasites on the body is a constant itch, which becomes much stronger at night. And in place of bites there are always pretty large pale blue traces - the result of the introduction of the enzyme. Since these tracks are quite intensively combed by an infected person, small scratches and wounds soon appear in their place.

So how do you determine your pubic louse? If you constantly suffer from intense itching in the groin area, then first you should carefully examine it. Pay attention to the presence of cyanotic traces - these are traces of puncture of the skin. Now take the magnifying glass and carefully examine the bases of the hairs. Lice can be seen - it's a dark little lumps at the base of the hair. Here you can see and nits - they are white.

Do not try to remove the pubic louse - it is attached so strongly that it is almost impossible. And since the skin in the external genital area is too sensitive to a variety of folk recipes and grandmother's methods, it is best to immediately consult a doctor - dermatovenereologist.

Pubic louse: treatment .

Modern medicine knows a lot of drugs (mostly shampoos or sprays), with which you can easily and easily get rid of parasites. Most modern medicines (Nittifor, Pax) kill adult individuals and nits in just one use. Before the procedure, you need to shave off the pubic hair.

Take care also to avoid re-infection and protect your relatives from parasites. To do this, all your clothes, as well as bed linens, towels, underwear, thoroughly boil or wash at high temperature.

If you have a sexual partner, it is likely that he is also infected. Therefore, it is recommended to go to both at the same time.
