Problems of education in the CIS countries

The problems of higher education are a number of difficulties faced by entrants, students and teachers, as well as a list of shortcomings in the educational system that directly affect the labor market.

Today , this problem is very acute on the territory of the CIS countries . The transition from one system to another turned out to be painful for almost all areas of life: economic, political, medical, and, in particular, educational. Some reforms were undertaken by the authorities of these states, however, their majority proved to be ineffective. This happened because educational problems were formed under the influence of many factors, and in order to improve the state of this sphere, an integrated approach is needed than few are ready to seriously tackle for various reasons: from lack of interest and ending with elementary inability.

The problems of modern education are at the present time mainly disturbed by a layer of intellectuals and researchers who work directly in this sphere and feel all its shortcomings very acutely. Also here, and a small part of students, graduates, and even smaller - applicants, which already reflected far from ideal educational reforms and the quality of teaching. As is known, only those for whom this is really a problem can solve any problem (even the most difficult one), and since interested persons do not have a number of powers, and those who do not need it to the greatest extent have, the educational sphere has been abandoned. Indeed, there are sometimes minimal attempts to change anything in it, but their quality and overall superficial approach lead to the idea that only the appearance of a desire to change something is created.

Next, we will consider the main problems related to education, which exist in almost every country in the CIS.

Problems of education: narrow specialization

Here we encounter a contradiction between narrow specialization and a wide range of industries in each profession. In universities offer a number of specialties, which, in fact, are very vague: psychologists, managers, lawyers, economists and so on. The labor market focuses on narrower specializations, but young specialists are not prepared for specific industries and are familiar with them quite distantly because of the prevalence of general subjects in the list of studied disciplines. So, it turns out that the whole world seeks to live in a modern Western manner (the need for specialists in a narrow profile), and educational services are morally outdated, people with a wide profile of skills are issued.

You can also include here the problem of choosing a profession: the people of working specialties are sorely lacking, while crowds of lawyers and economists, already surplus, are being released annually to the street. And very few people make efforts to balance this flow.

Problems of education: the economic component

Financing is one of the most painful topics, for sure, not only in the educational sphere. There is a low quality of education, which, unfortunately, many universities can offer. In metropolitan and large cities, this does not worry much, but in smaller centers, due to poor funding, there is a regular outflow of specialists. Basically, the problem is precisely low salaries that force talented people to stop teaching and research activities and devote themselves to another area.

However, some of them still remain, and they are very valuable employees who produce good specialists.

Educational Problems: Cultural Trends

Also, at present, there is a problem of cultural development of society. Under the influence of various factors, most young people are not interested in getting an education, they need material evidence that they have mastered a certain profession, more than knowledge and skills. This also does not improve the overall educational picture, it is probably necessary to propagate the value of knowledge and skills that are useful to the whole society. The media made a great contribution here: the systematic translation of low values and stupid examples of behavior, as well as the infantile attitude to life, realized its educational function in a negative way.

Thus, the problems of education have been grouped into one global one, which is difficult to eliminate, but possible. At the same time, shifting all responsibility to public managers is too naive: the problems of society must be solved by the same society, or at least with its participation, and not by individual elite groups. The first step should be done by everyone, having formed a conscious attitude to what surrounds it.
